205km for US $1.2 billion vs 480 km for US $2.8 billion, steep discount! :D
-
Kenya can't compete so in 15yrs there will be two classes - haves and have nots.
NRB is half slum and half modern
Rest of Kenya is 90% slum and 10% modern.
-
meanwhile Magufuli bashing continues.
They have said Tanzania economy has slowed a little due to uncertainty in Magufuli leadership. While in Kenya the economy is recessed while uhuruto leadership isn't to blame.

That is already the case. And as elections near, the have-nots will be meting out violence to each other, in order to get their chosen haves in place. Vicarious eating, they seem to believe. Quite a place, our beloved country.

Hilarious!!!

First of all you LIE about the cost. You could simply search this very forum to get the stated cost before all the contract variations etc at USD 3.8.
Secondly using the proper published figures calculate the cost per kilometer and then come back and mock Tanzania for the bargain they got. The TZ cost includes stations, rolling stock etc.
205km for US $1.2 billion vs 480 km for US $2.8 billion, steep discount! :D

Tzat propaganda is well known. I bet its the cartels that lost out on mega deals such as mining, infrastructure and tax evasion that are sponsoring the hostile media campaign. They have a small problem: Tanzanians are not as internet savvy as, well, Ugandans. The day the mafia control the radio is the day their propaganda will be heard. For now the common man in Tanzania is thrilled by the occasional bursting and shaming that their president carries out from time to time.
You may call them stunts or declare them illegal but the common man thinks it is working and will get him to give up a day's wages to stand in line and vote back Daktari.
Magufuli needs no Portal to tell Kenyans that a road of 36 kilometers in Homa Bay is allocated a quarter of what a 6 km road in Kiambu gets. I wish they had just read through that portal's contents before putting it out. I have never got such a gem of facts to use against someone from the same person!

That Tz. figure does not include rolling stock, its only for civil works for the railway. Thats why I compared it with the figure kenya paid for civil works. When they sign an agreement for rolling stock, lets return here and compare. Comprende!
-
So the TZ project does not include the rails? :D :D :D :D
The rolling stock is only a small fraction of the civil works. These can be purchased from any where around the world. There are so many manufacturers and best is competitive bidding not like the Kenyan ati "goverment to government" contracts.

How do you know its for structure only.

How do you know its for structure only.
I am all ears waiting for the answer to your question.

Magufuli launched the construction. Note that this railway will have speeds of 160 KM/ Hour. It will carry more cargo and above all it replaces the Kenyan SGR in the transport of Cargo from Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. DRC is on the books. Unlike SGR Kenya, it is planned to go to other towns not just those on the straight stretch from Dar:

The tender details are there for the dar - morogoro leg. Just construction companies invited, nothing about locomotive manufacturers

That is a news report about the tender. The details, as the news story says are to be found in the detailed tender documents:
Interested and eligible tenderers may obtain a full set of the bidding document in English on the submission of a written application to the address given below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD200.
