Look like this is an event that could become a kenyan speciality.
-
7 left. More prospect for kenyans.
-
Nicholas Mucheru Tumuti seem to have done it. Silver. New National Record.
-
Boniface Mucheru ran a good race. He was in it till the last minute.

First ever olympic silver...400m and 400m hurdle should be our next priority.
-
or just steal athletes, offer each world class athlete dual citizenship and give 2 acres of land developed into private hurdle zones. I've seen athletes for sale on the dark net.

I think just 400m hurdles. 400m hurdles, from what I can tell, seem to demand similar body types to the 800 meters flat. Kenya has just as good a reservoir of talent that can produce a number of serious competitors in the 400 hurdles as in the 800 m. You give someone like Rudisha the techniques and he would probably thrive in 400m hurdles too. My hunch is they have simply never focused on it because they might have thought it too technical.

Vivian and Obidi win women 5000m gold & silver.
Kenya has 5gold and 5silver. No 16 overall, no 1 in Africa.
SA with 1gold is a distant 2nd in Africa, 37 overall.

Good job!

Asbel kiprop lost in a very slow race. Bure kabisa!
Does he really have a coach?

Julius Yego delivered javelin silver. Kenya still no. 16 with 5 gold
Brazil nailed football gold by beating Germany. No. 14 with 6 gold

Does he really have a coach?
Asbel Kiprop is not a great tactical athlete. No strategy or specific plan. I've been watching him since the 2008 Summer Olympics. He runs the same way over and over again and doesn't learn from his mistakes.
Does he have a coach? I don't know. He might have one, but I have my doubts. He just doesn't look like a well-rounded athlete.
Nothing quite so depressing as talent going to waste.

Red nike shoe laces have a problem or the athletes don't know how to tie properly...
Too many athletes wasting time with undone laces!
-
Kipchoge looks great! He is picking up the pace
-
This was one of our greatest performance at summer Olympics. I'm going to miss all of this. Not only the events, but the afmosphere was great.

Kipchoge and vivian finally get their deserved gold; they were rare talents shadowed by the great Bekele & Dibabas. Kipchoge is going to become the greatest marathoner when he is done.
