Title: Kikuyus Under Attack in Bungoma
Post by: Simanova on August 02, 2016, 02:20:58 PM
Looks like Eunice and Lusaka activities have not gone down well in Bungoma. A number of Kikuyu shops have been set on fire in Chwele. There is tension in Bungoma town

some photos for doubting Thomases

I understand initially they just asked them to get on the bus and leave but it escalated when the Kiuks called on their police

Asking Kenyans to get on the bus and leave.  Calling the cops would be the right response in my opinion.  Kenya Police have a track record of being ineffectual when it comes to protecting wanjiku.

Of course it is the right response. It is just that some actions escalate small issues. The police are not known for diplomacy. They arrive in riot gear, beat up innocent people as the perpetrators would have left. That in turn leads to more resentment and before you know it, there is total war . I think they could have used a different approach.

Kenya is for everyone. Subdividing only benefits a few. THe "Trump" model will never work anywhere in the world. Somalia, Sudan, Iraq are  in shambles because of divisions.

What other method could they have used other than calling the police?  You cannot blame them for police mishandling of the situation. Police are trained/ should be trained to handle situations like this and you cannot blame the victim for their failures/ineptitude/incompetence.

Like Kichwa mentions, this is a really odd response.

What exactly are you saying here?  That Kikuyus should tolerate harassment and even threats to their lives from criminals in order to keep the peace.  You are asking them to be second class citizens in the only country most can call home.

You seem to have nothing negative to say about the criminals.  One actually can be forgiven for thinking you sympathize with them.

Kenyans need to understand that they are in it together.  For worse or better.  The world is not ready to recognize some other newly minted shit hole from Africa as new member of the UN in the name of secession.
