The war of words between Deputy President William Ruto and Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi is worsening by the day, with the DP now saying the cockerel party has lost focus.
Mr Ruto dared the Baringo senator to declare his political stand and stop criticising his 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking during a series of rallies in Baringo County, the DP hit out at the Kanu chairman for criticising his presidential bid, which he termed a show of cowardice.
“We know that Mr Moi is a confused fellow who does not even know his political stand in the next year’s General Election. That is why he is complaining because he has already panicked," said Mr Ruto during a rally in Marigat.
"Kanu is a confused party, which has lost focus. They don’t even have a plan for next year."
The DP wondered why the senator was castigating his presidential ambitions yet the Kalenjin supported his father’s presidency for many years.
He said that the ground was shifting, with many parties switching allegiance to the Jubilee Party, and challenged Kanu to follow suit.
The DP claimed that all Bungoma MCAs were willing to work with Jubilee and more than 15 coast MPs had already joined the coalition.
Mr Moi has been traversing the Rift Valley urging locals to join Kanu and this has not gone down well with Ruto’s supporters, who perceive this to be a scheme to weaken the DP’s hold on the region.
Speaking in Eldama Ravine on Thursday last week, the he told off rivals whom he said were beginning to panic over the party’s growing popularity and heightened activities in the vote-rich Rift Valley.
He brushed off Mr Ruto’s 2022 bid saying he should instead focus on improving the lives of citizens instead of telling them to believe in his “far fetched” dreams.
Mr Moi said he wanted to send a strong message to his rivals that this was just the beginning of tough times ahead for them.

The DP has perfected the art of abusing people especially when referring to KANU and Gedion Moi. Whenever he visits Baringo, he has to say "ongemeten tangoita" and "tuwache mchezo"! These statements suck big time!
Ngoo in tinyei tangoi murenchu, (who among us is here is cheeky instead of working)?
Doesn't he have other kind words to hit on Gedion and Baringo at large?
For your information, when William abuses our Senator, basically he is calling all these words all of us Baringoians whether you are in Jubilee or KANu because we elected Gedion.
Yaani kileku achee karchena cha tinyei tangoi akopirei kiptamtambiyon (are we the typical playful young boys according to him)?
Leave alone the numerical system generated Kericho Senator who purports to represent us in Parliament! Such a nincompoop!
Gedion Moi is our Senator by the power of the ballot which is the legitimate way of clinching to power and represent the people. Why can't he respect the will of the people?

Ruto has almost a stranglehold going by 2010 and 2013. Despite nusu mkate. Gideon only wins if he does not side with Cord for top seat. Obviously his Amani coalition with Mudavadi is toast.
Post-2017 Ruto will be Moi in RV because it will be "spoiling for our man". Unless Gema pull a fast one on him.

I have been told that he is using the "Moi script". How can the Moi script be relevant unless you re-introduce one-party politics. In 1979 and 1980 Kikuyus who didn't want Moi were in a straight jacket. They could not form another party and the only way to get power was through a coup which they planned for 1982 before Ochuka upstaged them.
As for Gideon, he is going nowhere. He lacks any coherent strategy and like Mudavadi believes the backroom deals made in smoky rooms. He seriously thinks he will be supported by Uhuru for 2022. There you are a Tale of two Kalenjins being dodged by Kikuyus.
As for Ruto getting votes in Western, he can start by stopping the insults. Luhyas voted for Moi for years and avoided Jaramogi. However when Moi forced Uhuru on them, they opted to listen to Raila and Wamalwa. They simply refused to listen to Moi.
Ruto is busy insulting Luhyas in public and in private. Come 2022 and whoever Ruto will be running away from will also find the map of Luhyaland. Don't forget the the same way he spited Luos, we can also enter an alliance with Kikuyus to screw him

I have no idea. My views on the subject are known. If you go by track record and pattern ( and what those who have previously shared with us intelligence): Ruto should be eliminated immediately after the 2017 elections. The Kikuyus would then shade crocodile tears and strike a new deal with Gideon cheating him he will take the mantle in 2022. All this is dependent on Uhuru winning in 2017 - something you know is a mirage.
Truer words have never been spoken.

Deputy President William Ruto’s latest tour of the Rift Valley did not go very smooth, a local newspaper has reported.
William Ruto is said to have met slight resistance in Baringo county when he toured the area on Saturday, July 16.
“More than 600 KANU supporters held parallel demonstrations to disrupt Deputy President William Ruto’s visit to Baringo county on Saturday… Protesters were chanting anti-Jubilee songs,” The Star published on Monday, July 18.
The protesters were angered by government’s failure to appoint Yatich Kangugo as Kenya Airports Authority (KAA)’s managing director.

Yatich Kangugo held the position in an acting capacity following Lucy Mbugua’s sacking in 2015.
KAA Chairman Julius Karangi, on Tuesday, July 12, announced that a Norwegian – Johnny Andersen – had been appointed to the position.
Kangugo later faulted the process saying that it was unfair and had a lot of interference.
“I have actually asked the chairman of the board to re-look into those results because personally myself I was not happy from how the interviews were being conducted,” said Kangungo as quoted by Citizen TV.
Andersen beat five other candidates for the KAA job with Kangugo being ranked fifth.

Apart from the appointment, other Baringo residents also accused the Jubilee administration of failing to deliver what the promised before the 2013 elections.
Kenya’s independence party – KANU – has a considerably big following in Baringo as the county senator in the party’s national chairman.
Gideon Moi, KANU chairman, has been involved in a war of words with Ruto as both they fight for political supremacy.
Moi recently dismissed William Ruto’s 2022 presidential plans as unrealistic and far-fetched.

Gideon Moi responds:
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has attacked DP William Ruto for "forcing" Rift Valley's people to join Jubilee Party.
Gideon noted they share the goal of transforming lives but said he will not do so under duress.
"I will not allow William Ruto to dictate to me or force my people into one sack like potatoes," he said via Facebook on Tuesday.
"Kenya is bigger than any individual. Kanu will not join Jubilee Party."
The Senator asked Ruto to address residents' plight and put off political confrontations until the time is right.

URP think tanks said last Saturday that they were plotting to prevent Kanu from signing a pre- or post-election pact with Jubilee Party.
Insiders aware of the stratagem said "either Kanu dissolves and joins the yet-to-be-launched JP party or it will be locked out completely" from entering any coalition with the party for the President and Ruto's re-election bid.
Kanu announced it will not be dissolved but will work with Jubilee and Gideon urged URP to stop acting on assumptions that the party wants to join Jubilee.

More than 600 Kanu supporters held parallel demonstrations to disrupt Ruto’s visit to Baringo county.
They demonstrated in Kabartonjo, Baringo North, but calm prevailed during fundraising forums Ruto the DP attended at Radat in Mogotio, Keturwo in Baringo North and later in Marigat, Baringo South.
Protesters chanted anti-Jubilee songs and demanded the government reinstate former Kenya Airports Authority MD Yatich Kangugo.

If Kanu is allowed to join JP, according to analysts, defectors to the party would ride on the agreement to dislodge JP-sponsored candidates across the expansive, vote-rich region.

As usual, it is all about "our man", never mind that getting "our man" into that position will not do much for them. Should be easy enough for Uhuru to fix: just appoint 3 or 4 of "our man" to some parastatal positions. Incoherent Gideon is hopeless against Ruto. No Kenyan politician matches WSR the orator. Raila at 2007 peak was more like it. Perhaps Chap Chap will grow by 2022. 2017 sioni mpinzani wake; dude even vibes basic Gema.

Gideon first has to learn to speak Kalenjin...he has made progress....but still a long way. Money is not enough to buy people when you can barely communicate.
