Is it part of CORD?  From what I gather, he can kiss his elective politics goodbye if he is in ODM's bad books.  He might have better luck outside Busia county.

At last.... Good riddance of stinking garbage. I said it before he was elected that he will be nothing but disaster. I disagreed with Raila about him. I stated that he wanted to be SG to increase his market price to Jubilee. How I wish I were wrong.

At the time Pundit agreed that Namwamba was too light weight to head such a party. But Raila would not listen. He had the frolicking lecher installed as SG. See what good that has brought.

Namwamba actually thinks he can run for President. He thinks he can bring in more votes than MaDVD. His target I understand is to take away 700K votes from ODM. That like nearly half of the Western electorate. Why did they not just ask him to win for them Budalang'i and see how he would fare on. I understand he is leaving that seat for the malaya he likes to take on bribe-paid trips to India.

Corrupt to the hilt, he started building palaces in Karen, Kileleshwa and Budalang'i as soon as he became Public Accounts Chair. If anybody has ridden on Raila's back to wealth it is that silly bastard.

...has he been cleared of those serial rape charges? is he going to collude with that serial wife beater Ruto?

interesting to note, no matter how smiley, pleasant, knowledgeable some may seem on the outside, they're sick inside and should be locked up for the sake of safeguarding vulnerable members of society.

These are not men of integrity. These are people who should be kept far, far away from power.

I pray Ruto's wife doesn't end up in the hospital mortuary given the constant domestic beatings, and justice be heard for all the underage girls Ababu traumatized.

He vanished for months, threw barbs at CORD anti-IEBC demos and when we won, he wanted to lead the talks. He then resigned. If we were losing a SG who actually worked for the party... I would shade a tear.

Quote
Ababu Namwamba has made good his threat and resigned from his position as ODM secretary general.

The Budalang'i MP quit on Wednesday citing harassment and disrespect despite his efforts to market the party under the opposition Cord coalition.

He had earlier complained of frustration since taking over from Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o about a year and six months ago.

“I have stood with ODM for many years but instead of recognising the role I have played in the party, ODM has opted to frustrate, belittle and harass me,” he said.

“I defended my party and party leader by action not by word of mouth and Raila Odinga is fully aware of that. My question is why they declined to give me full responsibiliites."

He told about 3,500 ODM delegates at Mundere that he reached the decision following a five-hour meeting with the Banyala council of elders. He said they advised him to relinquish the post with immediate effect.

He said he will submit his resignation letter next week.

Ababu explained that when there were wrangles in the party in 2010 and 2011, and a mass exodus, he launched ODM Reloaded.

He said this saw him traverse the whole country to bring the party led by opposition chief Raila Odinga back on the right track.

Ababu further said he ignored calls by a section of Western leaders to support a fellow Luhya and decided to firmly stand by Raila's side.

He said he was branded a betrayer when he refused to back Amani leader Musalia Mudavadi's bid for the presidency but that the party he did everything at his disposal for turned against him.

The MP said he pledged allegiance to Raila, not Mwai Kibaki who was declared winner of the 2013 general election.

Ababu said he strongly believed ODM had won the election by a landslide but that the election was rigged.

"We boarded the ODM ship and weathered all manner of poliitcal storms believing it will take us to Canaan, but it has suddenly taken the opposite direction," he said, adding he has decided to look for alternatives.

He said he will soon call a press conference to announce the political party he will join ahead of the 2017 general election set for August 2017.

“Today in the spirit of the Luhya community, I apologise to my brother Musalia Mudavadi for declining to support him and going for Raila Odinga," he added.

Ababu went on to say that is was the people of Budalang'i who campaigned for Raila ahead of the last general election and that he did the same in other parts of Kenya.

“My election as MP was petitioned in court allegedly because I was campaiging for Raila and ODM at night, but my party leader has forgortten all that,” he said.

The former secretary general said his problems began when he declared interest in the post.

Ababu claimed that prior to the Kasarani election, Raila held a meeting with the men in black at a hotel in Nairobi to cause chaos at Kasarani so as to bar him from getting the seat.

“Of all the people who contested for post of secretary general, I was the last to declare interest because I consulted Anyang Nyong’o who said he was defending the seat," he said.

But he added that Raila changed his mind "all of a sudden and started working against me" despite giving him the go-ahead to vie for the post but

Ababu who has been termed an absentee leader and a Jubilee mole, said ODM's biggest problem is nominations. He said wrong things will happen if the nominations problem is not solved.

Ababu is rotten to the core. I know him inside out hence my warning that Raila will regret supporting him for SG. I simply sat and waited and there he goes...

He will cause even greater chaos where he is going. He has this ego that beats that of a regular African peacock

Funyula MP Paul Otuoma is disillusioned and more or less broke. The former Local Government minister decided to quit his vice chairmanship in ODM because he was encouraged to spend his cash campaigning for the chairmanship — only for the job to be handed to MP John Mbadi . Otuoma has told confidants he used his millions to campaign and no one cared to refund the money. Otuoma is also convinced ODM will never give him the ticket for Busia governor, even if he could defeat incumbent Sospeter Ojaamong

Agreed. He has that in common with Miguna. No sense of spirituality (susceptible to evil conduits), lacks wisdom, foresight, humility, vision, loyalty etc. hungry for power, easily manipulated by forces beyond him.

Before ODM, Ababu was barely making a living working for an NGO in Kenya. ODM offered him a lifeline because he spoke up about injustices and for the down trodden when noone except a few in ODM knew who he was. He preached about injustices yet hadn't engaged in political action. Has anyone ever seen him in a political protest?

He was handed the post out of goodwill and abused his new position by engaging in the same corrupt practices he spoke up against, but this jamaa shockingly took.it to the next level by abusing underage girls and by engaging in human trafficking. I noticed his biography has been revamped, mostly BS. Who he plans to bed with next comes with the package deal of inheriting a hell of a task covering up those skeletons.

Maybe those things are something family can only help with like his cousin PapaF who supports Ruto from my memory. Those two didn't get a long but maybe they've buried the hatchet.

Leaving aside all matters to do with elections and the like, they should have got rid of him the moment he started recording private conversations with his party leader and then peddling the "tapes".    That was simply going too far.

Monday March 3, 2014 - Another trouble is brewing in the already troubled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following Fridays’s botched elections that was marred with chaos and violence.
This is after Budalangi Member of Parliament and his team declared they won the elections of Friday, which never took place, and demanded to be sworn in as bonafide ODM leaders.
Speaking in Kitengela, Namwamba noted that it was not his fault that the election was called off due to violence and as a result, he should not suffer any loss.
He said, he was poised to win the election by a landslide and demanded the electoral body to swear him in as ODM Secretary General as well as his entire team.
“We are not to blame for the chaos in Kasarani because we know very well it was caused by our opponents, we therefore cannot suffer the consequences. We carried the day on Friday and we must be sworn in as bonafide leaders of the Orange party.”

Not only in Luhya land, but CORD seem to have huge problems in Gusii and Coast too. Generally it seem twin-fold. CORD cannot seem to gurantee free and fair nomination -so many are bailing out knowing broke Raila is emboldened to serving governors- and secondly they have not shown a path to victory -something different from 2013 drubbing. All parties have to build capacity to hold free and fair election. ODM has the capacity but Raila has never been a democrat and has no intention to allowing free and fair election. Jubilee last time tapped into the expertise of Chirchir to ran the nomination ...having essentially ran the 2010 nomination. Parties need to start building serious capacity to hold nationwide nomination that would be seen as fair and free.

Let me explain - not that you will pay attention:

This is a self fulfilling "prophecy". Jubilee is buying CORD MPs. In some cases the MP and his opponents. This has no effect on the PEOPLE.

This is not new. Only the perverseness is new. They did it in Kajiado and Malindi. They then believed the people had moved with Nkaissery and the Malindi hyena. Need I repeat the outcome for you.

I have told you that some of the MPs have come to CORD to seek permission to take Eurobond. Let them start announcing defection publicly and call rallies so we see where that goes. Ruto should save his money for use after 2017 because he is going to a very hard place.

That can't be discounted. UhuRuto have patronage and power. Raila had that advantage going into 2013 and used it. What I am seeing in some candidate is genuine fear that Raila will not allow his key allies...like Oparanya or Joho or Kingi or Ojaamong to lose in a free and fair election. In short there are many reason why people are 2022 repositioning and re-allignment.

Unfair nominations were a major problem in ODM. We have tried to spin it but the truth is that there was a massive fuckup. The problem was people who because of closeness to Raila felt they did not need to be subjected to democracy. If this repeats itself I will be the first to throw in my towel.

Raila has assured the party and coalition that there will be 1. Joint Nominations 2. Free and fair nominations. The exception are areas like Gatundu where we stand no chance. Such places will see virtually anybody who wants the ticket get it. There are usually no takers.

CORD has two problems going forward 1. What to give Principal number three 2. Eurobond cash that appears unlimited. I have been begging for concerted efforts to deal with this. The solution is to declare war on Eurobond the same way NARC declared war on KANU's money. People then took it while protesting that the messengers were taking too much of it. CORD should exaggerate the amount, tell wanainchi that Uhuru has given out 1m per Kenyan and then name the person who is hoarding the cash.

This is denial, pure and simple.

CORD must open their eyes to their own wrongdoing and mistakes. Only then will they be able to counter Jubilee without having to resort to violence.

Otherwise 2017 is going to be a drubbing they'll never forget.

You have a Jubilee talking points script somewhere there.

CORD is not violent and does not resort to violence. We know who peddles the line about Raila and violence. It is used to intimidate CORD to sit and watch thievery and plunder.

It is just that CORD got robbed. Otherwise whatever sins committed by CORD occurred in Jubilee. Remember the Nairobi Governor Ticket? What mistake is there when an MP on his own volition goes to pick Eurobond? What mistakes were committed against Ababu who is suddenly swimming in cash - Hummers and V8s in tow?

Your country was robbed and the thief wants to make sure he is not caught by bribing you with peanuts so you give him the excuse to steal elections. And now you are peddling the thieves' talking points?

CORD only way to assure folks there will be free and fair process is to hold free and fair elections now for party posts. Right now many people think Raila will not let Kidero, Gusii dude, Joho, Kingi, Oparany...and nearly all those govenors to lose...and that is making lose a lot of guys.

Raila has to do the Men In Black he unleashed during Ababu nomination fiasco in Kasarani. That he can undo by calling fresh party elections.

Jubilee I think has a far better record of holding fairer and free elections. People know Ruto or Uhuru will let you hang if you get kicked out by votes..no matter how close you're to them.

It will be worse this time round, odm has been outside government and therefore doesn't have access to tax payer funds ,the easiest treasure trove to fund campaigns. Governors have lost of money that odm will need in its campaigns, Joho and Kidero have already bought their nomination certificates

Again denial, with the obligatory overused "You're a Jubilee mole" thrown in for good measure. Playing the victim wouldn't get CORD anything, except an industrial sized can of whoopass in 2017.

The constant blaming of Jubilee in a pitiful attempt to distract from CORD's own self inflicted woes is mind boggling (I'm thinking of the Ababu fiasco, among other things).

The only conceivable option left is violence next year, using the same tired tirades full of denial on why CORD lost the plot.

Good luck with that.
