Never mind that Uganda has no devolution....

The good thing with counties. Voters will/should have little motivation to retain these thieves. Unlike the national level where tribalism prevents anything resembling rationality.

This is happening across all counties. There is just lack of any controls. There are teething problems. I expect 70% of governors to be kicked out. The same rate we normally have for Mps.

That's true. It also seems MCAs are completely clueless. Useless. Content to let senators do their work for them as they make "fact finding trips" abroad.
How these trips have ever helped anyone remains a complete mystery. In fact some country, Malaysia I think, had had enough and put a stop to these visits.
It's a pipe dream, but I think EACC should make name for itself by making some of these governors actually pay.

Most of the current MCAs were former councilors. I think we will have better caliber of MCAS who will understand their job better now that people have seen MCA is a big buck job. Of course Kenyans will be very harsh on these governors and Mcas in the polling booth because they cannot ran behind tribal lines...
But definitely EACC have done very little here. They need to devolve. This idea of staying in Nairobi's Biwott building has to stop. EACC should be in every county.

Am surprised few commented on this plunder. And we keep yelling that there is progress while politicians steal left and right in the name of sitting allowances.

The Senate has ordered the Auditor General to carry out a forensic audit of the Vihiga assembly’s accounts.
On Thursday, the Public Accounts and Investments Committee issued the instructions, saying the assembly had engaged in “extravagance” and misuse of cash leading to huge losses.
Committee chairman and Kisumu Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o said the assembly spent Sh74million on unjustified foreign trips, including to Singapore.
MCAs reportedly held a budget review meeting in Uganda, visited the Tanzanian Parliament to follow proceedings and went to Israel, but Nyong’o said “there are no reports to show the benefits of the trips.”
Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi said a special audit should be conducted to establish the extent of financial misuse.
“We will only get a clear picture of the audit queries at the assembly if we have a special audit,” he said. The proposal was supported by the majority of the committee members.
According to Auditor General Edward Ouko, the MCAs spent Sh36million beyond the limit on the trips. He said the budget review trip to Uganda was in contravention of the constitution, which requires such meetings to allow public participation.

Alfie "Vuvuzela" runs on PR. A mini-jubilee. As soon as the cameras are gone, it's back to business as usual.

The water problem will only be solved when two things happen:
1. Removal of meters
2. End of bills for consumption
3. taking steps to make sure water trade is not profitable
