Information Cabinet Secretary (CS), Joe Mucheru has appointed new board members at the Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK) and revoked contracts of five individuals that had been appointed by former CS Fred Matiang’i.
Mr Mucheru on Monday told the Business Daily that the new appointments were driven by the need to find individuals with skills that can transform the State-owned organisation.
The new appointees include Pauline Muthangani, Munyua Waiyaki, Simon Kiuta, Ibrahim Mohammed Salad and Mary Maingi.
Ms Muthangani makes a return to the board after having served for two years following her appointment by former Minister Samuel Poghisio in 2012, before Mr Matiang’i revoked it.
The appointments are effective from May 31st and run for a period of three years.

“We want board members with the right skills that can help move the institution into the next level. Last week we launched a great innovation at the PCK and this is the direction we are taking,” Mr Mucheru said in a telephone interview.

CORD via parliament can summon Mucheru if something is wrong with the list. Also one can go to court and block appointment if the law was broken. There isn't enough details to know if the list is kosher or not.
The Joe Mucheru we know is a progressive individual who recently was Google Africa head - he is certainly not the dyed in the wool tribalist -and is among the many exciting appointment Jubilee have made the last few years.
