True.

If you're in Kenya drop by the Junction (The Hub in Karen also) and have a look at some of the kids stuffing their faces full of KFC.

Me? Sometimes I can't help myself and must go to Tom Mboya street for some of this deep fried in transformer oil:

More middle class... the Chinese are battling cardiacs and lifestyle diseases presently. More workplaces mandated to provide gyms, playgrounds and such. It is better to be obese than malnourished anyhow.

After seeing a friend going through gout, I find that to be debatable.  Highly debatable.

On the positive side, more heart attacks means more specialized care leading to more jobs. LOOK at the West.

This is a good thing.Fast food saves times and when you have the big boys coming here; you have world class food handling, prepping and name it. Diabetes...mm..that was always going to come anyway...as folks become more wealthier and sedentary.

The good thing that's happening is this fast food chains are creating or expanding market for several products. Subway, dominos and pizza hut are buying some of their cheese from the local market. urban bites has found a new selling channel for their crisps. Kenchic is supplying chicken to KFC . Mana suppliers from mueiga is supplying chips(fries) to several fast food chains including KFC.

Stimulating the development of whole new areas of production.  That's a good thing.

infrastructure is lagging ten years behind. The whole of Kenya will soon be a slum due to govt ineptitude. NRB - NKR should have been a dual longtime ago. Its become a nightmare.

I was there yesterday and the whoppers are the same as I remember in America. The SA companies like steers will have a hard time competing just like nandos is being creamed by KFC.

Don't know about burger king but KFC gets its chicken from kenchic' fries locally from mana suppliers and even lettuce. The same applies to subway which gets its meat from farmers choice.
