Deputy President William Ruto and CORD leader Raila Odinga yesterday engaged in war of words over the killing of businessman Jacob Juma.
The Deputy President accused Raila of using Juma’s death to gain political mileage, a day after his lawyer threatened to sue former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo for dragging his name into the murder. But speaking in Kakamega, the CORD leader told Ruto to go ahead and sue Jirongo instead of issuing threats.

The war of words between Ruto and Cord over the killing of JJ continues to make headlines here - and to tug at the heartstrings of those searching for the murderers of JJ. The opposition has basically convicted Ruto and has found him “guilty of murder."
Jirongo, no slouch when it comes to media savvy, continues to spin the JJ murder like a twister coming out of the plains. And it's hard, from the details that have come out so far, to not feel a sense of dread about the victim family and a desire to see justice done.
Which is even more reason for opposition to keep a cool head.
Apparently The opposition missed that basic idea of innocent until found guilty by a court of law, because it seems hell bent on convicting Ruto: specifically Jirongo- but even more important, the Cord leaders who are supposed to have the smarts to keep a level head in all this.

Person A says they believe Ruto is guilty. Person B says the accusations against him haven't been proven in a court of law. Doesn't change the fact his reputation to many is ruined even if it were to go to court and he is found not guilty because people will just whine about the law not doing its job. It happened in the ICC case where Ruto was found innocent largely because the accusers were proven to be monumental liars and know what the response from those who didn't like the outcome were?
a) Change the laws so it would be easier to convict no matter how flimsy the evidence is.
b) ICC letting Ruto off the hook is setting a dangerous precedent.
The point of a legit court system is to find out the truth in a legit way.

Ruto milked the ICC process to get where he is today, victims and IDP's be dammed.
Politicians worldwide always milk unfortunate situations to their advantage.
One may not like it but that's the reality of politics.

He had a reputation to ruin?

I have spoken with people who could swear by the hustler. Not surprisingly all from his tribe. RV is very thin on the history of reforms struggle.

You are right. ICC Witnesses disappeared left and right.
Indeed politics is bigger than security.
IDPs will be forgotten and that is it. Moi's IDPs never went back.
Kibakis will be the same.
