After thefts of FPE funds DfID, USAID and other mzungu donors have found a working model of contributing to education in Kenya while going round our corruption ...
What goes through minds of our elite while seated in those gathering listening to speeches by likes of Reeta Roy
Doing the maths; Wings to Fly is using 6.2 billion to sponsor 5,000 students through high school, shows the high cost of education in the few 'good' schools. Translates to 1.24 million per student in 4 years of secondary schooling despite heavy investment of public funds. Over 300k per year! Totally insane
We need to look into the costs components raising school fees to those levels - Is it possible to have NCPB supply grain to schools at subsidised rates ....
Matiangi and Uhuru need to do the maths instead of just preaching at such somewhat embarrassing events

I don't know what is included in that 6.2 billion figure but it doesn't seem right if we are only considering school fees, transport, students shopping and pocket money. A national school averagely charges 100k a year, add another 7k a term for transport, shopping and pocket money that brings the 4 year total to below 500k. Unless wings to fly have very high admin. costs, that figure seems a bit high.

5k dollars for high school education is too high. We need to abolish all boarding schools to bring ccost down
