Title: Commercial dairy farming Thread
Post by: Globalcitizen12 on January 27, 2016, 05:06:44 AM

There is an ongoing revolution in dairy farming. I have seen breed improvement that is going to make Kenya a market leader in meat and dairy products in Africa.

if we are able to phase out those cows that produce less than 5 litres and are comfortable with dry fodder will be a real agrarian revolution. continuous upgrading within local conditions in next ten years can easily see an average of 10 litres per which will have a postive impact on rural poverty

If counties were not stealing money; they would be able to fund AI services; VET services for free; so we see not only better dairy breeds but also better breeds for ASAL and for all kind of livestock. This is one of easiest way to pull folks out of poverty.

counties such as Murang'a, Meru and Kakamega are trying. Not sure about the ASAL counties efforts apart from some slaughter houses.

Murang'as coolers ideas is now spreading like bushfire across the country - have seen Matu Wamae dinosaur indicating KCC is taking up the idea. The coolers are likely to eliminate use of chemicals in preservation of milk. Is it a myth or is formalin really used to preserve milk?

Counties are busy buying wheelbarrows and SUVs instead of doing basic stuff that can lift people out of poverty.
