Flavor of the week.
No problem.
By latest March, it'll be all forgotten.

Jsc SHOULD recommend impeachment and Tobiko should charge this fool with corruption and abuse of office. It appear supreme court is another den of corruption
-
Until Kenya starts dealing with corrupt officials like they treat Shabab the music will continue.
-
That would be tragic. JSC and EACC should investigate this. I believe a judge should be beyond reproach like a ceasar wife and Tunoi should seriously consider stepping aside until this is cleared.
-
If Tunoi is found guilty, I think Kidero should also be held accountable. That said, this logic is not obvious in Kenya, if chickengate is anything to go by.
-
I think it goes beyond Kidero. It would call to question all judgment that Tonui and supreme court had delivered. This should be treason. We might have to disband the whole judiciary again. And restart. It is beyond me why IEBC commissioners are still hanging there after chickengate.
I think some positions should be beyond REPROACH. IEBC and Supreme court definitely. Tonui should have long quietly retired or even committed suicide.
These kind of actions erode any public trust on democracy and constitution. Right now the best course of action is for parliament to disband IEBC and Supreme Court. I am okay with corrupt parliament...they are that way worldwide..or corrupt executive..but not with IEBC and Supreme court.

Here is the man in his own words.
I am told NIS has confirmed that he indeed exchanged texts with the whistleblower. I would add EACC to those institutions you listed. It is a joke.
But I would be surprised if merely reconstitution changes anything. It's embedded in the DNA of the Kenyan body politic. It would take nothing short of a cultural revolution for such stories to be history.

The only people who can fire a judge are MPIGS. That only comes if he refuses to quit. They have to hold impeachment hearings and fire him after he's found guilty. After then, he can be charged in a court of law. Its a long process. Am suprised the supreme court has no ethical standards to guard against this. Judges should not even dine with the regular guy because they may be corrupted. They are human, and money smells good.

Am sorry to say that as long as they do not put any strict guidelines as to the conduct of public officials disbanding will be nothing. As long as parliament rubber stamps all appointees same stuff will happen. We need the more KOINANGE (CBK).

Kidero has not made a peep on the subject. The normal reaction of an innocent party would be to quickly deny and distance themselves. A guilty party can do that too. But it's never optional for innocent parties. The Kenyan is generally a cornered quarry I think.

Buhari is having a similar headache with the judiciary in Naija. The African who is in a position of power and does not abuse it is generally considered a fool by his subjects.

Having a corrupt judge is the worst thing that can happen to the system.
Parliament is a den of thieves
The executive is even worse.
in 30yrs we will owe so much that we won't be able to repay. Politicians will be in Switzerland enjoying their loot while we struggle with debt payments

I am told NIS has confirmed that he indeed exchanged texts with the whistleblower.
According to the Lord Justice, that proves nothing, because numerous people have his mobile phone number. There is in that a gap in logic that is especially alarming when the person is a judge of the Supreme Court.

Kenya and its institutions will change only when Kenyans have suffered enough pain and really want change. Really want it, as opposed to merely saying that they want it. Until then, "our people" and "eating" are all that matter.

in a 5 judge bench you need at least 3.... Mutunga surely needs to go ..he is a softie in face of thugs ...now that he has put in place some structures maybe a thug from the system may have balls to fix it now that it seems it is only sensible thing to do if things are not to implode... with IEBC and Supreme Court in the current shape the images we are looking at are not picture perfect
