Title: Uhuru has killed democracy
Post by: Georgesoros on January 24, 2016, 03:20:39 PM
Deploying security resources to look for blogger who are govt critics is one of the lowest points. KANU and Moi are back. The other day a senior journalist was fired from the nation newspapers for writing something critical of Ouru.

independent voices have to contend with assault from all quarters- governors, MPs, presidency

only hope is after 2017 elections when some kikuyu MPs/leaders break away as pragmatic uhuru pushes for ruto presidency

absolutely..
Segregation was ended by a court order.
Police were restrained by Miranda rights order.
Police have to have a reason to stop someone, otherwise its illegal. A court order.
One can stand up and call the President Bush a buffoon courtesy of first amendment.
And many others....
Where are the lawyers to take on these challenges!!!
Power is good and it corrupts.

Judiciary can end this by declaring how broad our freedom of speech are...like Americans did.

Democracy in Kenya died with the stolen presidential elections of 2007. From then on Kenya has become a mafiosi country. The executive controls everything and misuses its powers to break the judicairy and the legislative. The press is the only organ that the state does not control directly, but they are making inroads there by buying off shares into the printing media companies.
Total state capture.
