As for Waiguru, rumours claim that she has, for quite some time, already been performing "light duties" for His Excellency.

Light duties more like house wife. What I find funny is that the resignation came only 4 day after uhuru declared he has only one wife....take 2 did Waiguru resign or take medical leave?

I share kadudu's concern. We need to move past resignations. It's not enough. I know she is now a witness. In what we all know is a sham trial.
The focus should shift to returning every dime of that money and its proceeds to wanjiku. Once that can be done, attention can shift to locking these crooks up.

Political lessons from waiguru debacle.
We cannot solve youth unemployment problem with halfbaked ideas like public works using small deparments like nys. This is a 40 years problem requiring long-term planning to solve.
Naive political wonna be operative wonks like waiguru belong in the boardroom not in the political thearter ..politics requires understanding your opponnents and your traitors ..waiguru trusted too much delegated too much and forgot to issue the memo ..a memo that only big fish can steal with impunity not small time dengu suppliers
Political class should not allocate funds to ministries without capacity to spend if they do not want wanton looting
Separate your medicrocity from arrogance. At one time waiguru thought her brains got her promotions not her personal relati9jships

I blame the Kenyan elites for allowing such things to happen. If both Kalenjin, Luo, Kiyuyu and other elites would have stood up and be patriotic by demanding parliament revise these budgetary allocations then we won’t be spending 5 years fighting graft and wanton looting.
Both ODM and Jubilee need to redial down on populism nonsense such as NYS and Kazi kwa Vijana economic solutions. They are good short-term stimulus for economy but in Kenya we cannot afford to copy and paste USA solutions to complex Kenyan problems caused by centuries of poverty.
Uhuru overwhelming majority in parliament created a lot of apprehension with elites most of them going on self-preservation mode. Where everyone kept quite waiting for a decimated opposition to rise to occasion.
In those 2 years Uhuru has really committed serious economic blunders that now require everyone to rise up and fix. The country is broke. Resources have been misallocated and squandered. We have created hundreds of white elephants projects that feasibility studies are only known by corrupt government technocrats and tender mafias. We have a big titanic wobbling aimless in the deep-sea looking for an iceberg to hit.
The money in NYS could have created subsidies in agriculture, establish transportation infrastructure for Nairobi may be providing a metro bus or light rail. This money could have built a coal power plant cutting power rates by half. But now we have wasted that money and packed it in a small department within a 84 billion ministry
Better still this money could have been used to expand the sewage system of Nairobi creating a lot of permanent jobs and providing needed infrastructure to spur real estate investment in CBD and immediate environs like Eastland.
I want to see serious commitment by this government to agriculture. I say 15% of allocation should go to agriculture.
We want serious solutions not just populist political gimmicks

Here is ODM rebuttal of Uhuru anti corruption crusade. I did know we have 12 acts dealing with corruption in Kenya and that most of the institutions meant to fight corruption are plagued by corruption
