I tend to see it as a more transitory title than CEO.   Not set in stone.

If you want to be 'politically correct', instead of using chairman or chairwoman (depending of gender), you use chair or chairperson. Remember some countries  have 3 legally recognized genders - male, female and transgender

I see. I was looking at a business card and it had "chairperson" -a lady. I think "chair" would be strange.

E.g.

Samantha Thomson
Chair

Sounds like she's an actual "chair" like a sitting chair and declaring herself a "chair" like f u I'M A CHAIRRR กกกก

I think I might put that on my business card just to throw people off.
