Kenya is now a donor country. Meanwhile folks are starving to death in Baringo , Wajir , Moyale , Nyeri , Embu.
Govt struggling with wage bill.
Inflation over 7 %
Health care workers are on strike due to non payment of salaries.
Kenya will donate Sh87 million to Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia to help in the fight against Ebola, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.
President Kenyatta said the donation is in line with Kenya’s foreign policy on African solidarity.
“Standing in solidarity with our African brothers and sisters during times of adversity is part of our foreign policy,” President Kenyatta said.
He assured that border surveillance will continue to ensure Kenyans are protected from Ebola.
The President has previously stated that Kenya will not abandon West African countries that have been affected by Ebola.

...plus there is no money for referendum to address the runaway inflation and tyranny of appointments.. the list goes on ad infinitum! We are in solidarity alright but we can't and should not give what we do not have please!

Sound like a sick Joke for a country to donate 1 million dollar, while some of these people travel with excess of 3 million dollars in cash.
Most Nairobi's middle class carry more than 100k in their car most time in the weekends.

That is a noble cause. Even poor people donate their chickens in a fund raiser. Giving is not about having enough..it about helping in a little way.
Africans have to start helping each other before pleading for external donors.
Heck that is what insurance really is about....pulling together....if all poor people pool together their chicken and goats..they can rival donors.

How do we even know whether it was actually given? Maybe it appears in the books, but will find its way to a politicians pocket.
