It reminds me of my son's agitation over his first payslip several weeks ago. "What are these: OASDI, Social security, Fed Taxes, Medicare, 401(k), and State Taxes ruining my check? I told him that this interstate has no potholes, the police are 3 minutes away, and we live in a leafy area. Money for all this stuff has to come from somewhere. No different in Kenya. Folks have to pay, so other Kenyans don't have to use gumboots to access their slum homes. People need to pay for affordable housing, roads, and healthcare. America started 100+ years ago raiding paychecks; that is why they are super ahead. Kenya will need to get used to 60% net pay if they want to see sustained progress!

Unemployment, corruption are major problems facing Kenya – report
The survey further lists poverty and high cost of living as the third and fourth major problems.

That is the same report we've seen year in year out since late 90s. Looks like things are getting better from Kibaki error where Corruption used to over around 84%
