It's not bad to help provided US/UN pick the tab. But Kenya has more interest in Sudan, S. Sudan, Ethiopia peace. With Burundi, Somalia literally Kenya is surrounded by warzones.
Ruto has enough problems to fix before claiming that Africa President accolade. :D :D :D
"The MSS present in Haiti, although infused with goodwill, is experiencing huge challenges," said Haiti's U.N. Ambassador Antonio Rodrigue. "The financial, human, and logistical resources are currently completely insufficient to respond to the scale of the threat."
The Multinational Security Support mission, while approved by the U.N. Security Council, is not a United Nations operation and currently relies on voluntary contributions. The mission has so far made little progress toward helping Haiti restore order.https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/us-freezes-funding-security-mission-tackling-haitis-gangs-2025-02-04/
There are nearly 900 police and troops from Kenya, El Salvador, Jamaica, Guatemala and Belize. More than $110 million has been paid into a U.N. trust fund for the mission, more than half of it from Canada, according to U.N. data.
"The U.S. had committed $15 million to the trust fund; $1.7 million of that had already been spent, so $13.3 million is now frozen," U.N. spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters. "We received an official notification from the U.S. asking for an immediate stop work order on their contribution."

I thought the president said he had spoken with Trump and he was going to continue funding Haiti mission?
Ruto has private billionaire friends in USA funding if he needs funds, but his big money suggests he doesn't need anyone. His stock portfolio just hit 7 billion USD; that is enough to fill gaps where the Kenya government comes short!I thought the president said he had spoken with Trump and he was going to continue funding Haiti mission?
I doubt he spoke with DOGE
I think Ruto is handicapped with democrat out of USA scene. He's now turning to Macron.
His getting back HELB students loan might actually be related to Trump - I think he struck a deal with liberals to mess with education, agriculture, WHO, climate change scam etc.
If right wing take over Europe as well, Ruto will find himself alone!

Looks good exit. Mzungu can't fund mwafrika to show he is capable. The US has no credibility in the western Hemisphere, so it will likely end in more disaster. The US wants to take Latin America resources, so this coud be another way to send more military to Venezuela and beyond.

Vloggers and tiktokers know since Kenya operation began, normal life in certain places resumed considerably. Western media and most algorithms are tweaked to show the bad side of Haiti. Outside small areas in Port au Prince, Haitians are going by their normal lives. Some people in Haiti don't even know there is a 'Gang Problem". Folks are in the markets, going to school, making love and churning out more Africans in droves. Kenyans having lost 3 officers in over a year, is extremely commendable. The lives of those heros matter and it is the sacrifice that peace loving people of the world must always pay for other people to enjoy peace and freedom. There is nowhere peace and freedom is found without ultimate sacrifice of death; sadly, this time, three Kenyans and their families had to endure!
Total madmess to have Kenyans die as young energetic Haitians have fun.Fortunately we live in an interconnected marketplace where human beings participate willingly or unwillingly in global affairs. Some of those affairs have risks. Glad now that UN has approved over 5000 forces and billions to eradicate gangs, Americans, Africans, Europeans, Asians, Latinos, and all groups will bear the sacrifice. Kenya has led the way, and I'm glad more resources and money are flowing in. Kenyan police officers in Haiti are pocketing 400,000 shillings a month. I'm sure most police officers in Kenya would want to sign up very quick!Vloggers and tiktokers know since Kenya operation began, normal life in certain places resumed considerably. Kenya and most African countries can easily go the same route when you have wamunyoro type people in the country!
Anything Ruto touches never goes haywire.
