If the courts/prosecutors determine that he has other wives outside Illinois, they can easily extend his jail term to 40+ years. He should thread carefully while incaerated. US laws, especially liberal states laws on family/children, abuse are very tough! I have seen people go to jail only to face additional charges after uncovering other crimes like having multiple wives. On another note, he should not issue any threat to anyone while in jail using Jail's phone system. They listen to those calls, and many inmates usually get mandatory 2 years in most states for communicating threats while in jail!

He violated restraining orders. He is deemed to be a threat to his ex.

Dida probably had poor legal representation. Not to condone the crime, but he has not physically harmed anyone. People with some money can finesse other arrangements like restraining orders, community work etc.
