The ethiopians are moving ahead of kenya in all manner of economic fronts except a few they have deliberatley delayed eg banking services and telcoms. I feel that Ethiopians are more composed and know what they are doing for the long term growth while we are busy creating political motivated projects.

I have not interacted with ethiopians in their country but from those expats I have met I think they have less pride and foul mouth that kenia has become....

That looks like a Swedish road...The main consultant/quality controller for these Ethiopian infrastructure has been a Swedish government consulting agency called Swedroad....Pretty neat job :)

As  Kenyan "entrepreneur" am only looking at the amount of money that I could make out of the scrape metal that could be extracted from those street lamp posts :=)

Addis is a properly planned city. The Road and Road reserves are wide enough in ALL areas of the city. Imagine this on Haile Selassie Avenue. How many buildings would you have to slice?

I have seen streets narrower than Nairobi's but with proper planning, everything falls into place. I do not believe it is such...we are just not disciplined at all. we take short cuts all the time.

In Kenya, considering the endless excitement over that small road to Thika,  what is shown in the photo would make folks rant  about their hyper-super-duper-highway  ... until one' ears fell off.
