Title: I stand with Amber
Post by: veritas on August 25, 2023, 01:33:15 PM
I just finished watching the proceedings between Heard and Depp. For sure Depp is an abuser and that comes with substance abuse. I do believe however for defamation, no matter how slippery Depp’s lawyers were, had proven that on the balance of probabilities that there were imputations in the article in question, Amber demonstrated an intention to defame Depp.

Depp has already been found guilty of abuse in previous cases and this trial legally speaking is about defamation, which isn’t hard to prove in general. The fact that the media and Depp’s lawyers trivialised and reduced Amber’s abuse already proven beyond reasonable doubt through a proper English court, into some American hustle freak show, seemed like a real set back for humanity.

Shame on Depp and his legal team. Quite disappointing to watch Depp’s lawyers trash Amber like that. Not classy to watch at all.

Amber exhibits the pattern of an abuse victim, regardless of her performance. The timeline and sequence of events and her reactions to these incidents i.e., this constant battle of fight or flight appear consistent with an abuse victim.

The beauty about truth and justice is that for sure Depp will abuse again. If not Amber, I bet other women will eventually speak up. He doesn’t look clean / sober at all.
