A private jet traveling from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed on Wednesday in Russia’s Tver Region. The Russian Emergencies Ministry said all 10 people on board had died. Rosaviation has since said that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Private Military Company, was listed among the passengers.

“The Embraer plane was flying out of Sheremetyevo to St. Petersburg. There were three crew and seven passengers on board. They all died,” an Emergencies Ministry official told TASS.

The crash happened near the village of Kuzhenkino in the northwestern Tver Region. Some Russian outlets have identified the plane as an Embraer Legacy 600, with the tail number RA-02795, which is believed to belong to Prigozhin. However, this was not confirmed by officials.

The Russian federal air transport agency said that Prighozhin’s name was on the passenger manifest.

Well @Noway this being the land of Putin, what comes to mind is that someone just fell out of a window, nay I mean out of a plane. On a day with clear skies. Wueh don't cross 70-year old Putin unless of course NATO is watching your back!

It seems Yevgeny Prigozhin never read Russian history. He should stayed in Africa where he had been very recently. Putin never forgives.

I doubt this cat is dead but if so I don't think this guy was a great thinker in the same league as Alexander Duggin. The man was expendable. I would not be shocked to see this guy turn up in Niger. Bakhmut battle defined Wagner mercenaries no one not even the highly praised French legion want to go against wagner.

Still believing western media cool aid . How is the Counteroffensive fairing .
Prigozin didnt go against Putin . He went against the military leaders .
He went against the elite . Putin is one of the most modest person . There are people who would use a Nuclear in minute .
Putin wanted to join NATO back then , he allowed Baltic states to join NATO . He allowed Donbass people to be slaughtered.
Medved came in to power in 2008 and in months time was already resolving issues in Georgia . Putin took 8 years to decide to go and resolve the Donbass question.

Yevgeny Prigozhin was a man of many talents who made a “significant contribution” to the struggle against neo-Nazis in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, commenting on the plane crash that reportedly killed the Wagner Group head.

Speaking with journalists at the Kremlin, Putin said that he had known Prigozhin since the early 1990s, and described him as “a man of complicated destiny.”

“He’d made serious mistakes in his life, but also got results. For himself as well as our common cause, when I asked it of him in these last months,” Putin added. He described Prigozhin as “a talented businessman” who worked in Russia as well as in Africa dealing with oil, gas, precious metals and gems.

Prigozhin was on the passenger manifest of the Embraer private jet that crashed on Wednesday in the Tver Region, en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg. All seven passengers and three crew members perished. Authorities are still working to identify the bodies, but Prigozhin is presumed to be among them, along with six other Wagner officials.

Putin expressed his sincere condolences to their families and vowed that the investigation into the crash will be thorough.

The crash happened exactly two months after Wagner’s failed mutiny against the Russian military. Prigozhin had accused the Russian Defense Ministry of attacking a Wagner base and sent a convoy of troops to Moscow, while taking over the military command post in Rostov.

Putin condemned the mutiny as tantamount to treason and had a criminal case opened against Prigozhin. The charges were dropped within days, however, as Prigozhin agreed to disband much of Wagner and leave with the rest to Belarus and Africa, as part of a deal brokered by the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

A dictator has to be feared and not loved by his people. Putin has shown the Russians that he is still in charge. Anyone who dares not dance to his tune will be taught a tough lesson.

War of attrition..putin sitting pretty watching Nato bankrupt themselves throwing good money in the most corrupt country in the world. Germany in recession, UK is done, France in the verge of breaking. Winter is coming and no cheap gas from Africa or Russia. No cheap grains from Ukraine either.

The Russian economy is doing very well.Ignore the media propaganda.

(1) Gas,fuel,food are very cheap in Russia. Cheaper than Kenya and I think more than 10X cheaper than in Europe. Russia has a lot of food and energy for heating or cooling. That is the only thing that can remove you from power in the northern hemisphere of the world.
(2) The narrative in Russia is that the west wants to destroy Russia which gives Putin a lot of political strength.

Body bags count..40,000 Russians vs 400, 000 Ukrainian. Kill ratio 1:10 in favor of Moscow. 500,000 Ukrainian maimed cannot return to the battle field. All hospital under Ukraine control are full....How much can a small country like Ukraine absorb? It's pretty foolish and reckless to cheer drag queen comedian while wrecking Ukraine. Any sensible person would sue for peace only this time it will be under Putin terms.

The height of Putins popularity was during crisis particularly Chechnya war which made him the President ,Crimea rejoining Russia and when he decided to participate in Syrian war.
Putins popularity was lowest when Russias economy was growing enormously .
Pundit sometimes its better to shut up than yap things you dont know about.
Russian mentality is different .

Either way it will be a good training ground for both NATO and Russia to test their toys. And Russia despite minning the  hell out of Ukraine and digging defensive trenches are collapsing as we speak.
Ukraine will kick them till Dec winter.

After even Wagner threaten to match to Moscow and did a blistering run - look like everyone now think Russia is bluff - even if they threw a nuclear - it likely to be unable to pass the missile defense and do any serious damage. Of course if he throws nuclear - NATO will enter the war officially and overrun Russia.
