Despite the level of know-how and technology, events like this bring into sharp relief how far humanity still has to go to tame nature, even just here on earth.

Billionaires and their obsession with tubes and experimental vehicles. I would be me impressed if one of this billionaires tried to reclaim a single desert here on earth instead of trying to conquer the heavens and the oceans. I understand science and exploration and it’s importance, lots of government with resources are already doing this, the earth is actually a very hostile place. I always say, if I die doing something I like, let it be sex and not a literal coffin under the ocean.

There are two plausible scenario's There are so many mountains and valleys in the atlantic part of ocean where they sank, maybe they hit one of them...just thinking...another one is that the USA gov detected an implosion two hours i think after the voyage started which brings into question whether the fiber and titanium made structure could withstand the underground pressures...did they not audit the structural element of the titan versus sea pressure at 4KMs under?
Like in the beginning of space exploration, they should first have sent dogs and pigs,not human beings...the Pakistani billionaire is very silly, How do you tag your son in such a silly adventure.

1. Eti, you "understand science & exploration". I highly doubt that... You are just a truck driver! If the explorer Johann Ludwig Krapf had not left his comfort zone - to go 'discover' Mt. Kenya in 1849 - guess what, you would not be in America driving nada; Connect the dots bro: "No one" would know where Mt. Kenya on the dark 'scary' continent was and you would still be stuck where your great great grandfather lived - in Mt. Kenya area picking wild berries and hunting squirrels. Some members of this forum are really academically challenged, rarely thinking beyond their nose or what happened before they were born or on whose shoulders they stand as a result of what those gone before us achieved. Pundit has that special label for your type - low something....
2. About the sex part, you are now approaching 60. Your age already puts you in the danger zone - lifestyle diseases & covid have made the human body even more frail. I know in your profession of trucking, you make stopovers in every major city but slow down on them hoes. I agree with Kumbe Kumbe. These guys are risk takings and that explain why they were successfully in business. The world has made progress from such risk-takers. Their death is not in vain. They were pushing boundaries.
Unfortunately most of us just want comfortable 8-5 job for rest of our life.
Eventually we discover too late that nobody is coming out alive in this world.

I find the whole situation odd. They could've asked James Cameron to be their guide but created their own sub to see a wreckage with no purpose? Seems odd to me.

I hate the intellectual laziness on this site. It’s hard dealing with people who grew up being told that they are low IQ, unintelligent etc they live their lives trying to prove their intelligence. I personally do not suffer from that pathology, it’s something that affects a lot of Kenyans, it’s all projection. Intelligence is not something you shout on social media or something you acquire by putting others down online. It’s actually self evident. The fact that you think that those white explorers discovered Africa tells me that you maybe a smart person but intellectually lazy. These people who died paid a lot of money to do this expedition on a tin can, there are 800 people who boarded a floating device as refugees and sank off Greece, did you hear about them?get yourself educated, truck drivers are not your enemy, it’s your stupidity.
