Accusations of the West towards Putin are traditionally based on the fact that he worked in the KGB. And therefore he is a cruel and immoral person. Putin is blamed for everything. But nobody ever accused Putin of the lack of intelligence.
Any accusations against this man only emphasize his ability for quick analytical thinking and making clear and balanced political and economic decisions.
Often Western media compares this ability with the ability of a grandmaster, conducting a public chess simul. Recent developments in US economy and the West in general allow us to conclude that in this part of the assessment of Putin’s personality Western media are absolutely right.
Despite numerous success reports in the style of Fox News and CNN, today, Western economy, led by the United States is in Putin’s trap, the way out of which no one in the West can see or find. And the more the West is trying to escape from this trap, the more stuck it becomes.
What is the truly tragic predicament of the West and the United States, in which they find themselves? And why all the Western media and leading Western economists are silent about this, as a well guarded military secret? Let’s try to understand the essence of current economic events, in the context of the economy, setting aside the factors of morality, ethics and geopolitics.

The article seem written by those gold conspiracy theorists; The expected demise of USD as the global currency is given; i doubt gold will replace USD; i forsee a huge basket of currencies replacing the USD depending on the share of trade; so say 20% of currency will be USD; another 20% Euro, another 20% Chinese yuans, the 10% in Rupees, Rubble,Dirra,Swiss france, British pound and maybe even Naira.
Gold is just too cumbersome to be used as unit of exchanging goods and services in the modern era.

Sounds like global research is channeling Energizer. Or is the other way round? How long will the peasants put up with the grand-master?

A Gold ad disguised as .....

What a funny article. Last I heard, the international monetary system gave up on the Gold Standard some 40 or so years ago---with good reason--and odd & bizarre attempts to resuscitate it have failed (even in the USA, which would have the most to gain).
So, Putin is going for the gold, eh? We'll leave aside the many commentaries on how Russia's gold reserves have not stopped the rouble from turning into rubble. Instead consider this: the USA remains the world's largest holder of gold reserves, about 8 times that of Russia. Now, imagine what would happen to "Putin's Budding Gold Standard" if the USA decided to sell, say, one-eighth of its gold reserves at below current market rates. (Don't forget that, regardless of other countries, the Gold Standard died as soon as the USA decided it had no more use for it.)
Military options being out, the USA (with the Saudis convinced to go along) has decided that there are other ways to make Russians feel some pain, and so far some pain has been felt. (True, the Saudis and Americans too will feel pain from falling oil prices, and they know it; but it's a comparison of a paper-cut on a finger and a sharp burning stick in the eye.) What has been done with oil could be done even better---or is it "worse" in this case---with gold.
P.S. The current "accusations" are solely based on his mischief in the Ukraine, nothing to do with the KGB or whatever.

Auntie Hubris and Energizer (and lately KSN) all pray five times staring at Rt.com and globalresearch.ca daily.
But for these two sites, I could have sworn that Negro conspiracy theorists' IQ was due to some congenial defect or something.
If you want to corner conspiracy theorists, task them with predicting the future. They can't. But somewhat they always manage to 'connect the dots'. They understand causality but ONLY AFTER the fact not BEFORE

I don't know why people hate Putin and Russia..i just do not find any reason to hate Putin or Russia. Not even in ukraine where i think Russia has legitimate interest given the history of Ukrain-and-Russia.
What exactly has Russia done in history that was detrimental to world or the negro? Nothing. They have not enslaved folks. They did not colonize countries around the world. Exterminate races. Grab their land and resources. Name all the ills that western world have done. All Russia have done is defend their territory both in first, second and cold world wars..mainly against Germany and Ottonman empire.
I think for last 30yrs of US sole superpower..they have made huge blunders..just like US have been great force of good..spreading advancement democracy, technology and science.
Russia for most part has just been minding their biashara. Unless you're American fed with cold era Russia hating...
There is a lot to hate and like about the western world..there is barely anything to like or hate about Russia that has largely minded their business in northern pole.

Pundit,
Russia's history is full of conquest. The USSR, gone only 2 decades, was mostly recently conquered territory.
Personally, I don't care about Putin, as long as his actions do not threaten nuclear war.

RV Pundit:
Yours is a very funny comment. Let us consider just the 20th century. Talk to some East Europeans. Here is a Russian tank destroyed in the streets of Budapest in 1956:

Who attacked who first. Russia conquered Ottoman(turkey) and allied force when they attacked Russia in first world war. They later attacked and conquered German and eastern allies during second world war. Russia have kept their affairs mostly in their region.
I find many people hatred for Putin and Russia totally unjustified. There is a lot to love and hate about Western World. There is barely anything that would make me hate Putin and Russia....well unless i was eastern european.
On the contrary the US (and western europe) have made so many plunders...i find criticism of some of their huge blunders like Iraq, Vietnam, Afgan, name nay africa state and etc....totally justified.
Western world have plundered the world for 500yrs...from slavery to coloniliams..and now neo-coloniliasm

Pundit:
The specific example I gave you was Hungary in 1956. Did Hungary attack Russia then? When you have answered that, you can then take a better look at Russian history before and after then, in relation to surrounding countries.
By the way, I find amusing your comments on "neo-colonialism". First, to the extent that it exists, it is because of the full support of African "leaders". Second, African "leaders", on their own, have, since independence, managed to thoroughly damage Africa on their own. To keep blaming "neo-colonialists" is a simple way of avoiding taking responsibility for oneself, but ultimately it is self-defeating: the only people Africans manage to fool are themselves, which is why they remain at the bottom while the rest of the world moves on. When is the wake-up time?

Granted Russia or USSR have made some blunders in eastern Region which nothing compared to what western europe and USA have done.As regard neo-colonialism..clearly you cannot blame the weak victims including our politician. If anything it responsibility of US and developed countries not to take advantage of our leadership...
Personally i find those hating China and Russia amusing lot who have swallow western world propaganda hook, line and sinker.
Russia and China have not done anything to Africans that you can call evil.
