By 2057 given current demographics Kenya population will hit 100 million. What are the opportunities and risks of such a huge population in a resource poor country?
-
Manufacturing opportunity, best retirement investment is Land

Is this true? I have read statistics, that the population of Kenya will pick at around 80 million. From there it will be going backwards.
The population growth is slowing with the years, but the life expectancy has also gone up

Kenyas population will decrease , only the muslim community in Kenya will increase .population boom is usually driven up by 20 year olds .
Majority of the current 20 year olds cannot even attract women to make them wives and bear children because of joblessness and lack of inheritance . Even previous communities from RV are becoming watchmen in Nairobi malls something unheard of in 90s when they used to become Policemen and soldiers in the army /airforce having longterm incomes.
Now add the the urban lifestyle of drinking and consuming substandard foods and you have 40s becoming the new 80s . The pandemic itself affected the attrition rate and Bill Gates has predicted more pandemics at an interval of 3 years . Forget these propagandas . Kenya population wise is headed to where Western nations are . Leveling up……

I am glad people are now talking about a subject that I have been trying to bring up constantly and whenever I bring it up I am accused of talking about kibe (who is another loser just older)
There's an entire generation of kenyans that do not know what work is. This is the group aged between 19 to 35 (They might be older one's too I'm sure probably many 40 year old's) but it's a social disaster for the country.) Ruto should give this job to Gachagua to start addressing this lost generation because neither ruto nor gachagua drinks and yes, they are corrupt, but you don't get to their positions without a work ethic.
And I keep saying that not working is much, much, worse for men because it leads to high crime, violence, and chaos. Men have to work. They're not going to be home breast feeding or taking care of babies so if they don't work, what is their purpose in life? and there's a whole generation of men in kenya that are not working, they are total alcoholics, they are deadbeats (it's becoming a country of single mothers) and honestly, by 30, if you haven't learnt how to work, it's too late because these lessons have to be instilled at a young age.
Women in kenya are not as bad because culturally, they are forced to work in the home (doing laundry, cooking, taking care of younger kids) but boys are doing nothing at all! they cannot even take care of themselves (at least the women can do that, but who will they marry if all they are left with are these losers?)

Sema that generation is lost, its is so dangerous that I no longer spend time in villages due to huge number of jobless morans whose way of life is stealing and sex. Most in my villages are involved in stilling cattle from Borana and Somalis in Isiolo.
We are heading in a very dangerous territory, we need factories beg the West to bring their manufacturing from Asia to Kenya. I hope Ruto sees this danger and is planning .

I don't think it's as bad as lost generation of 90s...most young men at least are driving bodas or watchmen or turn boys or farming ..I have been in rural Kenya..I didn't see many idlers...there are many opportunities now than few years..also noticeable drop in drunkards.Generally young men are driving bodas..these bodas have transformed rural economy.

I think population will shrink because traditional family model has been compromised in Kenya by greediness, money, corruption, alcohol/drugs etc. Kenyans, especially the young people of today are by majority not good citizens that can maintain families and raise upright people going forward. Even if population grow, it will yield to millions of defective people that don't understand the power of decency, discipline, hard work, sobriety. Finding an honest Kenya is very rare!

I think 90s remain horrible because of economy collapse then hiv aids carnage. There is almost hiv aids grave in every household due to it.Generally post 90s has been getting better not worse..

Pundit:
Is this how kenya is going to compete globally? with boda boda drivers and watchmen? Ruto's 2nd term needs to be dedicated to addressing the needs of this lost generation. Building the economy of course is the first priority but also telling them about a different value system. Kenya is not going to be able to compete globally with these semi-literate sheng speaking boda boda drivers

Ruto has no magic ward..development takes time

Kericho - Sotik area used to be so serene. Nowadays it is littered with people doing nothing, just sitting on the side of the road. SAme thing deiving into Muranga. Narok area is even worse.
