Title: Rutto’s Problem
Post by: independent on November 06, 2022, 11:03:16 AM
He stands to be the obama of kenya but that is if he fights new and emerging scandals. But lets assume he will not steal for himself through his buddies and cover up in various strategic posts. Problem is that it’s impossible for him not to steal. He has to. And the CS’s and etc that will do it on his behalf will soon surface naturally as we have seen before through chest thumping and disconnect from reality. Some folks will become billionaires overnight and nobody will ever raise a question from within. BIG elephant in the house is the corruption and scandals that happened from kenyatta all the way to goldenburg. NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN PUT TO PRISON. That translates to this administration and even the coming ones in the future that if you can get away with it, then you are scott free. Rutto will not be abble to put anyone with those scandals to jail simply because he is connected to some scandals directly or indirectly. The same way Uhuru couldn’t because he was involved in many of them. If he squeezed anyone with a scandal, blowback would somehow implicate him as well coz he aint far from it. All he has is stop more scandal bleedings or some how slow it down but the past cannot be recovered.

Koome will face acid test. Either she puts former CS’s to an actual jail or she will pacify us with typical theatrics of getting the low hanging fruits. bad sign already when she says judiciary toilets are broke instead of corrupt judges. I stand corrected but time will tell. Will she actually put anyone to jail? Almost everyone is corrupt one way or the other. Majority of elected folks have a scandal or a case but somehow judiciary have a case with broken toilet as a priority. How about the guy that shot someone and still didn’t face justice.   Aaaaaanyway time will tell.

Corruption is overplayed. Even with zero corruption - kenya will remain poor.

If you're poor - harvest very low yield - even if you secure the maize store - you'll still go hungry.

The biggest challenge is to grow more and improve maize yields.

Securing the maize store is a problem of rich countries. Say you have oil or collect lots of taxes in middle or developed country - you biggest problem is corruption - as you already have the resources.

Africa need to produce more. You cannot guard an empty maize store. The coffers are literally empty - why should anyone prioritize anti-graft?

The most important think Ruto can do is to provide a creative, problem solving, serious and cerebral leadership.

So far Ruto has surrounded himself with think tanks - and has prioritized production/solving problems - and I can only expect the best.

Once a well-thought-out plan is out - and is implemented - kenya will grow - enough for some rats to steal and still leave a lot more maize in the store.
