Ekaterra Plc, James Finlay, Sasini, Sotik Highlands Tea, Eastern Produce Tea Company of Kenya, and Williamson Tea are some of the multinationals operating in the region
The renewal of land leases for the companies is shrouded in mystery, as counties were not consulted and the views of the public were not sought
Kericho Governor Erick Mutai revealed that the county receives Sh47 million annually as revenue from the multinationals

The mechanisation of the tea plantations is irreversable. It is like asking for donkeys to cart goods from Kericho to Mombasa. Technology is unstoppable. Mechanics in Kericho should specialise in reaparing these machines. Even the introduction of pcs was said to be the end of the typewriter. Was true but it brought more oppurtunities.

Hiyo ni sawa.
Problem is land ownership dispute.

Politics aside: That land belongs to Kenya, RV folks in particular. They should benefit from it one way or another. It takes a brave man to call out a historical injustice and an even braver man like Mugabe to correct the ills of colonialism. Forget about the negative western media prokopanda on Zimbabwe.
-
They dont even use current land to effectively benefit themselves.
Drive thru Elburgon and its same thing since 1970s
WHat a joke.
-
They are already ready to leave.
I think it's just small nudges like this;
They cut their losses.
Kalenjin need to prepare to buy development.
They are huge assets - but folks can afford it - eventually
GoK need to organize a huge loan - and they go.

Zimbabwe is a madhouse. More than 35% of the population lives in exile and you want to lable that propaganda. Go round the world and meet well educated Zimbabweans polishing shoes on the streets of south African countries or as househelps.
Mugabe was a disaster for Zimbabwe. The country will take decades to recover, if ever.

We dont have to go for Zim land grab
We need to use constitutional means both in kenya and in London
And of course make them leave.
There are only three or four companies.
They will leave.
Already Uniliver the big one has sold it tea business to some little thing - Ekaterra Tea - some investment fund
George williamson sold to India Tata.
What remain is the Australia James Finlay.
The rest like Sasini are kenyan.
So little nudge they are gone.
Ruto has to do this intelligently.
In meantime Kipsigis and Nandis plus Kiambu people should prepare to purchase these farms.
They are going to be very expensive.
But doable.
-
So it is just a question of the British multinationals selling out and who buys does not matter? What will that help the local Nandi on ground?

This is our ancestral land; we can invest in that tea business; we are running out of land.

You are inviting Wahindi and Kiambu people tp invest in your land. Will they respect your "ancestral" land?

Sanctions placed by EU and US destroyed Zimbabwe. Mugabe did only what he thought was good for his people, which I still believe was the right thing to do.
Zimbabwe will rise again. It's only a matter of time!
