The situation is dire when you see hasoras staying away from national celebrations.

There is need for cheap maize from wherever to flood the market. Even relief food for urban slums. Schools heads are feeling the heat too.   

Redirect a few billions for the next 3 months to buying maize

It is a matter of life and death. Yes it should be in Turkana and all over urban slums. Most elites are enjoying their GMO breakfast cereals but hypocritically shouting GMOs.

Buying maize through NCPB is the easier intervention point. Easing restrictions, easier border entry for trucks bringing maize. Once maize is available cheaply in the market the unga price will fall.  Schools can get it cheaply too. Easier to distribute as relief food.

Unga subsidy is just opaque ukora - why broke Linturi want to go that way.

Farmers are making a killing; this harvest season; so the only intervention has to come from importing GMO maize abroad; esp for animal feeds;

In meantime this yet another opportunity to encourage rice consumption.

GMO way to go,stuff kenyans with GMO food if Ruto doesn't go full steam with this he will waste his 5 years feeding Kenyans instead of doing meaningful things maendeleo wise. The hungry have no choice
