President Yoweri Museveni's son Muhoozi Kainerugaba Monday went on a Twitter meltdown, warning that he would only need two weeks with his army to capture Nairobi.

In what could turn into an embarrassing diplomatic tiff for the neighbouring country, Muhoozi, who serves as the commander of the land forces of the Uganda People Defence Forces (UPDF) posted a series of controversial tweets about Kenya, Uganda's neighbour to the East.
He started by blaming retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, whom he refers to as his “big brother”, for not contesting for a third term in the August 2022 polls, adding the retired president could have easily won the election.

"My only problem with my big brother is that he did not stand for a third term. We would have won easily," he wrote on Twitter.

Former president Kenyatta was barred by the Kenyan constitution from contesting for a third term.
But Muhoozi, 48, suggests Mr Kenyatta, who handed over power to President William Ruto on September 13, 2022, should have changed the constitution to remain in power.
"Haha! I love my Kenyan relatives. Constitution? Rule of law? You must be joking! For us (Uganda), there is only the Revolution and you will soon learn about it!"
Not done, Muhoozi sensationally claimed on the same platform he needs a fortnight to topple President Ruto's government.

“It wouldn't take us, my army and me, 2 weeks to capture Nairobi,” he tweeted.

He went on: "I'm happy that members of our district in Kenya, have responded enthusiastically to my tweet. It's still 2 weeks to Nairobi! After our army captures Nairobi, where should I live? Westlands? Riverside?"
It was not immediately clear whether or not he was in charge of his Twitter account.
Incidentally, President Museveni, 78, has twice benefitted from a change of the constitution to rule Uganda for close to four decades.
This includes the move to remove the term and age limits from the constitution.
Muhoozi has also belittled opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, saying he will never rule Uganda.
“Kabobi should know that we will never allow him to be President of this country!” wrote Muhoozi.
The controversial Muhoozi has emerged as a favourite to succeed his father if and when he chooses to retire.
Bobi Wine contested against Museveni in 2021 and emerged second.
He challenged the results at the Supreme Court but later withdrew the case and has remained a strong critic of the President, who shot his way into State House in 1986.

Tamy and Pundit, this got my attention and thought dismissed it as TUI tweet (tweeting under the influence), until I saw Mutahi Ngunyi comment. One, 254does not engage with social media incidents unprofessionally, to maintain professional diplomacy.
2). Always, keeping in mind that somethings are not coincedents. Have we inspired an unintentional coup in UG??? UG cannot take Malaba in 1000 Nights. Why is this guy drinking himself out of a promotion. There has to be something brewing on the western front. This may be Ruto's first foreign policy test. Btw, we never got closure on why Ruto was Stopped from flying to UG. The last rumor y heard was that Bruce McKenzie ball blah. We need to 'open a file' on this, and keep it active. It's perhaps nothing, but verify in the affirmative.

Knowing KDF I would be very scared,last time Uganda wanted to invade us America came to our rescue by flying carrier aircraft over Kenya and beaming long range radars on Idi amin locations That message was clear and Uganda stayed away.
Ugandana army is made up of veteran guerilla and rebel forces hardened on battle field, same can't be said to our dear KDF which Constitution goes like this
Most kambas in KDF inherited position from their grandfathers who where luggage carrier corps to mkoloni.
Most Kalenjin in KDF inherited position form grand fathers who were cooks to Mkoloni
Most Luhyas inherited position due to their grandfather being drivers and messagers and so on so forth
Maybe uganda army would be here in 1 week am honestly scared. Ruto needs begs Museveni not to invade.

Don't make me laugh brother. The so called battle hardened soldiers of updf have on numerous occasions been disarmed by pokot warriors.
Oh and by the way in the late 80's a contingent of GSU, AP's border patrol unit and Anti stock theft unit(all police) repelled an incursion of updf in busia.
Some things are easier said than done. Just because they've been fighting amongst themselves for years, we should be fearful of them. Naah! For the longest time updf was a ragtag guerilla outfit. Nowadays I can say they've embraced some professionalism. Taking over Nairobi is hell no!

Museveni apologizes for the blunder
"I am very sorry for what my son Muhoozi did. I ask our Kenyan brothers and sisters to forgive us for tweets sent by General Muhoozi, former Commander of the Land Forces," he said on Wednesday.
Museveni further said it was not correct for his son to utter such remarks.
"It is not correct for Public officers, be they civilian or military, to comment or interfere in any way, in the internal affairs of brother countries,” he said.
“The only available legitimate forum is the Peer Review Mechanism of the African Union or confidential interactions among us or EAC and AU for not public comments.”
Museveni further explained why he promoted his son to a full general.
“Why then promote him to a full General after these comments? This is because this mistake is one aspect where he has acted negatively as a Public officer. There are, however, many other positive contributions the General has made and can still make," he said.
"This is a time-tested formula to discourage the negative and encourage the positive. Very sorry, ndugu zetu Wakenya.”

Really thanks for trying to lift my spirits,however am still jittery I will need more convincing because stubbornly facts point to a different direction
We can easily compare our dear KDF with UPDF on a battle ground both have been that is Somalia.
UPDF actually has been in Somalia much longer than KDF and was there when Somalia was a hell hole. Faced with this fact we look at the occurrence for the 2 armies while there.
I will be brief 2 facts
1.UPDF has never faced the collapse and wipeout of entire battalion like KDF got in El adde,Kolbiyo and other locations
2.UPDF with much smaller team held Mogadishu against alshabab alone for a very long time when mogadishu was hellhole and the government there held just a section of the city.
So I presume if we look at the above Scenarios you understand why Njuri is still apprehensive about our chances should Uganda come knocking our doors,Maybe Abiy can intervene on our behalf :)
And lastly didn't hear UPDF trading in charcoal,what army does that :)

Thanks pundit for reassuring me too,I guess i will go back to my ranch and herd my dorper sheep peacefully,anyways best thing is kalenjin land sits on the corridor ugandans want to annex and the warriors will never accept an invading force.
