ruto is in very unenviable place. BABA got saved by the gods of bad luck. people forget even embu has a very arid place just above kieni girls school. there is a place we drove to for school games. I think it is called iciara. the place was so dry only catholic church had water. there was no meat in the butchery. I was told due to lack of refrigerators the butchers only slaughtered once a week and the orders were to be made since within 8 hours rhe meat would rot if left unrefirgrated..I only drank soda and ate a loaf of bread provided for lunch by my school.
