This reminds me of what Lee Kuan Yew said when he first took over Singpore -- He had to force the people to get away from their 3rd world behavior.
Rigathi can't eat like that at a state dinner and ruto is right. It's embarrassing, but I'm sure they are many others that could use these etiquette classes. Kenyans are very uncivilized and unexposed. Even things like saying thank you to a waiter when they bring your food needs to be taught.
Kenyans are very uncouth in many respects. The British were able to help many kenyans with that (I'm sure Moi & Kibaki and that generation knew how to use forks and knives and learnt etiquette from the British, but once the British left...it's been a disaster ever since. People might make fun of Ruto for saying this, but the Singaporeans did it as well.
