The Supreme Court has thrown out a petition seeking to stop President-elect William Ruto's swearing-in terming it incompetent.

Eleven petitioners had moved to court seeking to stop Ruto and Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua from being sworn in on grounds that Gachagua violated Chapter Six of the Constitution on Integrity.

“The notice of motion and petition dated August 5 is for the reasons given, incompetent and are hereby struck out,” the court said on  Tuesday.

The court also said it lacked jurisdiction to hear and determine the case.

Rigathi has an active corruption case in court relating to the alleged acquisition of Sh200 million through skewed contracts by companies associated with him.

Some of his accounts have been frozen.

The court  said that the petition was filed way before the declaration of the presidential results and therefore the court cannot handle the matter.

“We reiterate that this court’s jurisdiction under article 163(3)(a) of the Constitution only kicks in after the declaration of the presidential election results and subsequent to a competent petition challenging the elections,” the court ruled.

The court ordered the 11 activists to bear the costs of the petition to Ruto, Gachagua, UDA Chebukati, IEBC and the AG who they had sued.

He will likely pull more.

Is this him or others? because it's not making sense anymore. I don't believe Uhuru is this stupid or desperate.
