Title: GOP Senator Promises Riots If Trump is Indicted

For stealing classified files.

This is actually the only leaf of conservatism the GOP still adheres to - having abandoned pretense about all the other tenets - as far I can tell.  The Republican party remains the biggest threat to project America.

“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

Unlike ufool, Trump has a constituency to defend him. And he is dealing with a withered Biden. The swamp mosquitos are lethal, they are intent of not letting Trump have another chance to drain the swamp.

The US has always been a flawed democracy.  It never ceases to amaze how people outside the US keep quoting and looking up to the system here as exemplary.  Even when you factor out things like gerrymandering and voter suppression.  The structure of the Electoral College and the Senate have permitted a minority hold by the GOP on power.

The EC has generally gone the way of the majority with few rare exceptions.  Today, the only way a Republican can get to the White House is with one of those exceptions.  They accept they can never win a majority again.  They are now working day and night to ensure that they can still retain the advantage even with a minority.  And talking to them, it's increasingly obvious(has been to me for decades) they are staunchly anti-democratic.  The election of Obama accelerated those sentiments and brought them to the surface.
