That phrase is very similar to Russian claims in Feb.

My reading is that they'll throw their weight around a bit but will avoid things leading to bonafide war.
My hope is Taiwan doesn't respond in kind; then this can go away like the 'almost war' btw Iran and US in 2020(?).
My fear is that Taiwan also acts aggressively then this thing escalates into another Ukraine.
