He can never leave Gideon Moi. Him and Moi were circumscized together in same menjo. Moi brought his two sons - Gideon and Philiph to Salat Snr for mtc- so they friendship is little deep. I am not sure if Livingstone Salat and Kipsulchan were there too. Those guys are funny as hell - and wote ni walevi. Kanu leads other political parties in the ownership of property in most major towns.
In a financial statement of its assets and liabilities, the Independence party revealed that it had houses, farms and beach plots worth Sh4.5 billion.
Kanu is one of the 24 political parties out of 51 that have filed their financial statements with the Registrar of Political Parties as required by the Political Parties Act.
On Wednesday, Kanu secretary-general Nick Salat said the party had assets of Sh1.3 million and long-term assets of Sh4.5 billion.
“We are not poor by any measure and our competitors should know we are not a joke,” he said.
He laid claim to Kenyatta International Conference Centre, which was taken over by the government in 2003, and said the party would fight to reclaim it.
Mr Salat said the party had houses in Nairobi, Nakuru, Mombasa, Machakos, Meru, Kisii, Kitale, Rumuruti, Kabarnet, Isiolo, Kitui, Narok and Kilgoris.
He said it owned 150 acres in Naivasha and beachfront plots in Lamu and Malindi.
“We also own a house in Kitui and we are kicking out the Vice-President (Kalozo Musyoka) who has been occupying it,” he said
