Title: Kibaki dies. RIP
Post by: RV Pundit on April 22, 2022, 12:15:42 PM
Arguably one of  the most brilliant politician in kenya.
A great economist.
A gentleman.

It such a shame 2002-2007 tribalism & pogrom soiled his otherwise excellent public career.

May he rest in peace.

We all make mistakes in life and the most important thing is not to repeat them but correct them.

After 2007/8 crisis,He tried his best to see that we got a new constitution,Handed over power peacefully and left, what more could one ask for?

That probably only thing we share with you.
My father was greatest admirer and supporter of Kibaki.
I naturally grew up supporting him...
The Kibaki of 70s and 80s was remarkable.
In the 90s he still had it...
Sadly old age and bad health - allowed rascals around him to take advantage and mess his legacy.
Narc was epic moment for kenya.
It was a moment we should have slayed tribalism
Kibaki failed - and totally mismanaged his politics - despite growing the economy  - he lost election and had to rig - leading to war.

Either bad health or something - but he allowed small cabal to undo the narc revolution.
Betrayed kenyans by bringing tribalism back and shoving a very bad constitution draft - that was rejected by almost 60 percent.
Instead of learning from it - he went on to kick 60 percent of kenyans to opposition - bringing KANU of Moi and Biwott back. Shocking.
A good leader - should have listened.
Then he refused to play politics.
Despite economy growing at 7 percent - he became unpopular - and lost election
He had brazenly rig - and led kenya to worse of it's modern history - 0.6m uprooted from their homes and many killed, injured and raped.

2002-2007 - he failed in politics - and succeed in economics.

That is why you need someone like Ruto or Mboya - who can play both.

R.I.P

P.E.V. was as a result of Raila bad politics.

You hit the nail on the head. The political problems we have today are generally Kibaki's failure to steer the country in the right political direction after his sounding victory in 2002. The man surrounded himself with homeboys who brought nothing to his election victory, but were hungry for power they did not deserve.

I never admired Kibaki and even doubted his ability to lead the country after his car accident. The politics of 2003 till 2007 confirmed my fears. Other people run the country for Kibaki. After 2008, the man woke up a bit from his deep slumber.

That probably only thing we share with you.

Did kibaki start election violence in Kenya?

When he lost 1992 election,Moi & Kalenjin leaders caused death of over 2000 people majority kikuyu.

When kibaki lost the 1997 election,The same KANU kalenjin group caused massive Kikuyu luo deaths in Rift valley and Likoni.

Moi used to cause this violence through majority kalenjins in the police and army,In 2002 they were squarely defeated, when kibaki defeated them again in 2007,they couldn't it stomach it.

Violence in 1992 1997 and 2007 election has one COMMON DENOMINATOR Anti kikuyu violence in Rift valley,The rest are just cosmetics.

This thing of blaming kibaki is HOGWASH.

You're mixing
1991/1992 election violence had nothing to do with Kibaki.
Kibaki was in KANU until 1991 Dec.
Violence in RV in 1992 was against all communities that were thought to support opposition (FORD).
The idea was to push them out of rift valley and disenfranchise them.
Moi indeed started it - and ended it - when donors pressed his balls.
The army or police played zero role - Kalenjin just needed a trigger - and that is what Moi's NIS did
Burn a few kalenjin houses along the border - Kalenjin then raised war cry - and thousands of warriors arrived.
The violence was from mt elgon to Nyandarua/laikipia - affecting all Non-Kamatusa communities in RV - retalion kalenjin  were were affected in major cities - my big bro escaped death in thika.
It was Kalenjin-Maasai versus rest.

1998 violence targeted Kibaki.
Kibaki won 1997 election - most likely - Moi extended voting for second day claiming ballots had not reached certain areas.
Kibaki tried to go the court of appeal (supreme court)
Kones started tribal clashes in Molo warning kibaki and court of appeal- who promptly rejected petition on technicalities.
That Kones clashes was localized - unlike 1992 which was war against Luos, Luhyas, Gusii, Kikuyus.

2007 kibaki is responsible - for not stopping, not knowing, for triggering it - errors of commission and omission.

RIP

I'm not one to speak ill of the dead but history needs to remember that his ego and tribalism caused a genocide and set Kenya on the wrong course.

Had he stepped down from power as promised to Raila and KANU, Ruto under ODM would be president by now because Raila intended on just one term.

Sorry to say, but Ruto's playbook is like Raila's 20 years ago. Ruto doesn't have enough international influence to stand a chance unless he supports rainbow ideals and joins a society.

I take it he supports conservative ideals but to have that luxury in politics you need to have been born with a gold spoon in your mouth. New money isn't enough.

Anyway RIP and RIP to all the victims and closure to victims' families who didn't get their day in court but rest assured history punishes more harshly than the law.

I came back to this nipate having left the other place and chilled for 4 years because of your honest, brutal truth. I don't know why people want to hide the fact. No one was fighting in Kenya until the gang around Kibaki cooked votes to remain in power after it had been hounded out of office by Ruto's led Raila team. Post-Nyaoism, any group Ruto is on board wins. Raila won in 2007, and Uhuru won in 2013 and 2017 partly because of Ruto's powerful effort. Had Raila been declared the winner in the 2007 election, no single Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Gusii, Luhya, or Luo would have been touched. Uprooting, violence, and skirmishes would not have taken place. The injustice of such scale, by default, makes Kenyans hit the streets. Kibaki did exceptionally well economically, but his involvement in stealing Raila's win is squarely to blame for bloodletting. I hope the victims of PEV will eternally remember that so the nation can NEVER repeat such a mistake. The icing on the cake was "no Raila; no peace" made things worse. In a waring community like Kalenjins, when injustice has happened, and war is declared, there is nothing anyone can do. Prevent injustice at all costs, and Kenyan communities will live in peace forever. In 2022, if Raila wins fairly, no Kalenjin will complain, and I'm sure the same would happen to Luos if Ruto wins fairly. If Ruto wins, or Raila wins fraudulently, expect fracas that may lead to full-scale war. No one wants injustice! As a result of electoral theft, history classifies Kibaki as a failed president despite his good economic record. Lets be truthful and a better nation will emerge!

Kibaki well hidden stroke changed him...When Kibaki took office in 2002, I was very young, so conscious knowledge of him was when he was President having had two strokes and an accident which affected his speech and his movement.

It is later through my father that I would get to learn of the man he was before the stroke. President Kibaki was eloquent, astute and spoke of issues in the 1970's that we started taking seriously in the 2000's. I cannot wait for his biography to be released because I would very much like to read about this part.

He was also quite classy and romantic which the same wouldn't be repeated about many Nyeri men. Ama ni kuficha wanafichanga😁

How many times in a day, do you shoot yourself in the foot posting here?? So in 2002, "you were very young". 2002 is exactly 20 years ago, yet in your own posts you keep posting that you have been "blogging for 30 years". So if you were "Very young" in 2002, what were you in 1992? An embryo? Congrats! First time I am hearing that a human embryo can "blog". What do you take us to be on @veritas blog? The problem with blogging is arguing with IDLERS.People who continue talking about the sane thing over and over in a different way.Ruto in the morning Raila for lunch and uhuru for supper. If you are a paid blogger, well and good.If you are not a paid blogger please use your time doing something else because you may waste a whole lifetime here.

Conversation which never end.INSANITY.

That's why you find old nipate bloggers avoid these streets, the earlier you learn the better.

Moron that is copied from facebook from someone.

I am 40yrs. I knew of Kibaki since I was 10yrs and became DP member then...because my father was DP chairman -- and we had boxes of Kibaki posters nobody would take.We could not paste it anywhere except our house. We have come far in kenya - those days - my father and his wife - one other guy were only votes Kibaki got in Konoin. Mwai Kibaki 3 votes, Matiba 0 votes, Jaramogi got 1,500 votes (that was a lot - tea estate Luos - one guy in our village was jaramogi & now raila dieheard - he got beat for that) - and rest went for Moi. That was 1992. I think in 1997 - Kibaki improved to 5 votes in Konoin.

I would continue to support Kibaki until I was able to officially campaign for him and Narc candidates in 2002 as university student. The day he won I was so happy I drunk myself silly. Next day Moi came to my area to visit his cook/farm manager who was retiring - and stopped at our shopping center - and told us narc wave was bad wind bla de bla...I told him kwenda huko :( - luckly we were like 3 guys shouting - his security picked the two guys - and went with them - beat them and left them for local police.

All was good then Jaluos started making everyone feel it's was THEIR GOVERMENT. Everywhere Jaluos were feeling very entitled. Soon GEMA exerted their influence and secured PORK. Ni kama hi Azimio ..if Rail was to win..Luo will make it very clear it's their goverment.

Kibaki was a nice guy that was undone by the stroke - bad health - and even when operating at 50% capacity - he made a joke of Raila - the welder.

Kibaki was exceptionally very brilliant.

You're nearly right. Few mistakes. I joined RCB in 2001 when I stumbled upon it on Nation Newspaper. I think Mashada had not been formed then...never really joined Mashada. I stayed on guest mode because Onyango Oloo & many PHds types use to write long Inshas in perfect English..all diatribe against Moi...until I started contributing in 2003-2004.  Kalenjin hatred was on top...mogotio goat...people then really hated Kalenjin and loathed Moi (which we shared)...I was amazed when kikuyus would be hated even more 2-3yrs later....then we kalenjin were now able to join. Luos and others by 2005 had turned their guns on Kikuyus online. It was pure civil war that became the destiny of our NARC DREAM.

I use to ferociously read newspapers since I was 10yrs - 1991 or about. I remember the day I heard in radio (BBC Radio) university of Nairobi shouting Moi must go. My neighbor had just joined it. It that day I resolved i would go to UON and shout Moi must go. I had inherited Moi hatred and disdain from my father.

As for ICC - I didnt hack any ICC witnesses because I didnt know of them. What I did was simple to hack into NGO that was owned by Koros & Wafula...and I found a treasure trove..that I shared here. I gave guys password to the emails. True RV copied the mails and shared around. Itumbi came here looking for information...and he went and he became the HACKER :)

I remember that day I released the emails - Ruto was in pre-trial conference - he nearly got locked up :) at ICC because I think they thought it was syndicate :). That is probably the day WSR came to learn about Nipate.com :). Pre-trial was suspended for an hour as Ocampo panicked. ICC went to True RV - found nothing incriminating. We met with True RV in Nairobi when he called on me with Kendi :) - and he showed me the ICC letters. There was nothing linking us to any witnesses tampering because we didnt know ICC witnesses...to be able to reveal them.

As for your stupid threats - I dont engage in hate speech or any crime - I predict things you rather not hear.  Yes we can do a little tribal banter...but nothing serious.

Its easy to track down RVP,He has stated the following:

1) 41 years.

2) Joined UON in 2001,Campaingned for kibaki 2002.

3) His father was DP chairman in the 1990s somewhere in BOMET or KERICHO

In 2007 , I was the first and only one who predicted in Mashada there would be war. It was evident and there was intelligence going on to that effect.
What Im trying to tell RV , how the system works is that they will use his posts to sacrifice him . They will twist bis posts to show he was advicating and promoting war.  Unfortunately thats how it works especially with the lazy investigators .
As for war there is always a probabilty especially in Africa and having gone through one in 2007. Deep state tried to go that route it has failed to pick up. It would be plainly stupid for UDA to use it as a tactic to win elections because they are miles ahead and already winning without much ado about nothing further more only ODMers are prone to Violence threats during election.

Njuri, if you note RV is a well known character He is credited of coming up with MOAS and was being discussed in all blogs after Itumbi said he was source of outing the ICC witnesses .
I was just telling AOH that RV has a solid image. He made Itumbi famous without RV Itumbi would still be a backpage blogger. Here is Itumbi mentioning him.

I am ready to stand in court to prove my case

Scribe to ‘expose ICC dossier scandal’

A journalist at the centre of claims of hacking the ICC website has threatened to spill the beans on alleged interference with witnesses lined up to testify in cases facing the Ocampo Four at The Hague.

Mr Dennis Itumbi told a parliamentary committee on Thursday he was conducting investigations into the alleged interference.

“As an investigative journalist, yes, and I will expose it in a few days and you will be shocked,” he said at the meeting with the Defence and Foreign Relations committee.

He also accused Mr Luis Moreno-Ocampo of recklessness in handling the information held by the ICC and said he was ready to show, through his investigations as a journalist, how the prosecutor was careless with information and the safety of witnesses.

The UK dossier documents tabled in Parliament by Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo and Dujis MP Aden Duale on March 8 claim that the UK Government is at the centre of an alleged conspiracy relating to the ICC, claims the British Government has dismissed as fake and malicious and meant to destabilise Kenya.

The dossier also mentions a head of mission as being involved in stage-managing the ICC witnesses.

Mr Itumbi, a popular blogger with a considerable following on Twitter and Facebook and the owner of a stable of county papers, is being investigated by the police on the matter in regard to alleged hacking of ICC and Foreign Commonwealth Office emails.

He was arrested and questioned but was released without charges.

Would be genuine

At Thursday's session, he said he was not in a position to tell whether the document being investigated is genuine or not.

He, however, said if police find him guilty of hacking, then dossier would be genuine.

“If it is true I hacked the ICC server, the document is true,” he said at the session chaired by Wajir West MP Adan Keynan.

Mr Itumbi, accompanied by lawyer Ashford Muriuki, also linked some human rights activists to the contentious dossier and said he would need more time to give an in-depth presentation on this.

He said correspondence between Mr Maina Kiai, Mr Ken Wafula and former ICC witness David Korros and several other witnesses could have a bearing on the dossier in terms of authorship and promised to make a written submission next week.

The others mentioned by the journalist were Mr Hassan Omar, Mr Wainana Ndungu, a former Swiss ambassador and Usaid.

Responding to a warning by Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni against putting names of other people and institutions in disrepute, the journalist said he was ready to defend his utterances.

“The emails did not come from me, they are available on nipate.com…the people who did it have not hidden it,” he said.

The journalist said he found the material on www.nipate.com and he trusted the site.

Mr Itumbi said Kenya needs courageous journalists who can fearlessly expose issues at whatever cost.

“If the price to pay is to go to prison for telling the truth, then some of us will have to do it,” he said.

He said the information he had could be accessed by anyone else as it was not classified material.

Mr Itumbi has sued rival blogger Robert Alai over claims via social media that he authored the document that is being scrutinised.

The committee will receive a written submission from the journalist on Monday.
