Tanzania is most resource rich country in EAC. It has g9kd, Nickel, tanzanianite, natural gas, plenty of land that is arable. It has everything it is only that ujamaa screwed them big time and ccm has become lethargic. In 40 years to come kenya will be 3rd poorest nation in EAC. With lake Albert oil discovery Uganda will catch with kenya in 3 decades

Kenya has a diverse economic set up. Greatest impediment is government agencies which act as undertakes not enablers.
There are no resources to speak of in Africa, Russia is the giant.

I don't see the rest catching up soon.. modern economy is based on human capital..not natural resources

read up my guy, this is the last decade where oil is a resource, natural gas can only be used within Tz., exports will go the way of oil

The sooner they function as a unit, the less likely they are to be doomed. Right now, apart from annual gatherings(pure entertainment for dignitaries) EAC countries function as their tiny unviable selves. EU by comparison has pulled some countries - the Eastern Europeans - back from the brink of failure.
