Constitution is never about the majority.
It's a painfully negotiated documents normally after war like PEV 2007 or US civil war.
It's meant to protect the weak and majority
Otherwise majority can also pass a referendum against the weak and minority.

Majority can have their way on electing president and all that - but constitution is RED FLAG.
