GOK must prospect for oil around mt kenya and other areas alike. It cannot go around endlessly poking holes on shambas of certain people it has marginalized in the past while calling those areas primitive and unproductive.

They know the probability of striking deposits in Meru,Nyeri,Nanyuki is next to nil
What they need is to really open up those regions by constructing roads leading to nowhere and basically pouring money like there is no tomorrow.

I agree with Vooke.
Pokot need to be tamed otherwise that oil there will proof expensive in the long ran. Pokot can not be tamed through force. They need to invest more on education,roads and such.

Right now i am told anything upto 1,000 pokot armed heavily (small boys in a location) go raiding; seize villages and hold cops hostage;

That has to change..

The government might find it more convenient and cheaper to secure the oil infrastructure latter using the military and drones. Much cheaper than investing in low productivity people. For Kenya to benefit from oil, the politics of mta-do have to abandoned.  A military solution against other Kenyans is dumb.  These folks have the birth rights to their territories.
