Look likely it will be split into two - win-win.
-
Not good. Look at Tanzania border.
-
They have gone for win win - there is slightly bend as border hit ocean - that has saved kenya

Seem this final resolution

Kenya should run with it. They've got a good deal.

50:50
Uhunye vows not to honor it.
What does Somalia give us other than buying Miraa?
Kenya should spite them

Who is Uhuru. The lameduck should read 2010 constitution.Kenya will respect international law.Let him enrol jomo jnr to go fight somalia over their land. How do you even start.Nobody will invest in that area because icj is big deal.

St Mary boys will go in...
Much more to attain...

-
The idiot Uhuru flew to chair unsc but he doesn't realize icj is part of united nations top organ..this is not a kangaroo court.Kenya has to quietly lick it's wound otherwise somalia eventually will want nfd..which somalia voted to secede. The next gov should pull kdf from Somalia and follow international law...flouting icj unless you're US or any veto power is crazy to even imagine. The sanctions that will come from unsc that Kenya ceremonially chair would be devastating..even amisom funding will be stopped.Only the big 5 veto powers can overrule the united nations

Rich from someone who jumped to high heaven about ICC. When high priest was almost goin down you spited ICC. If Uhuru defy ICJ what difference?
-
Kenya case was self referral.ICC is not ICj.Its a voluntary Kofi Annan experiment. If Kenya case was unsc resolution like Sudan we had no option

Pull out of Somalia and recognize Somaliland
Only baite loses miraa market, and you can bet there will be tens of panya routes to deliver it
-
How about accepting that icj rulling because we actually got something..and then become friends with Somalia

Makes sense. Bring into question Tanzania border if mishandled. Can spiral into major dispute.
-
I think Kenya should quietly lick it wounds; we got a good deal from ICJ: borders dispute and such wars are not worth the human life and economic cost. Somalia theoritical has one longest coastline in the world..yet we know it's a banana republic.
We have so much virgin land in kenya - that remain untouched - that we should focus on. The entire North Eastern remain under-utilized. We need to fix insecurity - and start minning operations or put solar energy or something that can grow in those deserts.

We still have Elemi triangle that kenya stole from sudan.

Sounds like diplomatic way to admit failure. Kenya already occupy Jubbaland so Somali wont be taking control immediately but they will sell oil exploration on the block from now - and no oil company will take kenya offers on the same block.

Our serikalis are quite a puzzle.
Just who is fishing in Kenyan waters at the coast?
This has been the question on Kenyan fishermen's minds, as they complain about trawler and foreign vessels on the country's coastline, depleting stocks and leaving them impoverished.
This is even as it emerged that for the past eight months, the government has been unable to monitor and intercept foreign vessels fishing in its territorial waters in the Indian Ocean, after failing to pay Sh16 million in subscription fees for surveillance.
Between May and August 1, 2021, the Nation, through the Global Fish Watch tracker site managed to compile more than 230 fishing vessels within its waters undertaking deep sea fishing. Most of these vessels are foreign-owned, with China, Seychelles, Italy, Taiwan, and Hong Kong-flagged vessels, appearing multiple times on the tracking site, recording more than 50,000 fishing hours within Kenyan waters.

He probably thought he'd sieze zoomali waters the way milk and banking cartel have done to Kenya.
Now after ICJ heavy hammer fell he camp at sleepy Joe bidenstan to get help over ruling...

Reading the submissions it is clear AG chambers became a wankers' paradise. Somali been doing better since 2009 as we thought it as a failed in submitted documents to the international bodies.
1. Somali recognised the court in 1963 while Kenya recognised it in 1965.
2. Since 1989-2014 Somali was consistently submitting documents on the maritime territorial claims.
3. Kenya has been amending the 1972 Territorial Waters Act; Also has 1989 Maritime Zones Act which uses equidistant line
4. Somalia claims Kenya has no legislation on continental shelf :D :D :D
5. Kibaki goes against equidistance blah blah through a presidential declaration
From there it is cartography but up to this point it is clear ICJ was face saving for Kenya.

I like Sosion. I think Bomet should elect him senator. We need to be friends with Somalia, encourage friendly relationship, open the borders and forget nonsense about borders. Thriving Kenya lift Somalia. Thriving Somalia lift kenya.
Kenya next president should focus on improving trade btw kenya, somalia and ethiopia. I am sure Ruto will do this.
The somali xenophobia is absolute nonsense. Kenya is friendly to TZ and UG - it should even be more friendly to Ethiopia and Somalia.
Ruto presidency will automatically improve relationship with somalis...somalis and kalenjins are the original settlers of kenya - with half kalenjin cognate words similar to somalis...the GEMA discomfort of somalis is irrational like it was with devolution.
If anybody wanted to hide oromo, kalenjin and somalis inhabiting kenya as original owners after aboroginal - long distance althetics would simply disprove them.
Kenya for a long time has allowed bantus to dictate the foreign policy of kenya - it wasnt until Moi that nilotic south sudan was rescued - Kenya now has to bring on board somalis to feel this is their home - they came here longer than most - now shouting kenya.

Your obsession and worship of the somali is relentless. Eti you share half root words but one group is nilotic and the other cushitic. Mind-blowing,at this rate you will change your name to a somali one Abdi pundit.
Eti somalis were first to occupy Kenya, again this is bar talk ,the land that is now north eastern was occupied by oromo-borana For many centuries before Somalis are just recently 150-200- years came in that land. Most names in Mandera are of a oromo borana origin.
You love zoomalis Abdi Pundit :D the question is,do they love kalenjins too as brothers?

:D :D @Abdi Pundit.
As usual Pundit conflates lots of things, shida ya half baked knowledge. it is true Kalenjin language share vocabulary with proto Cushitic, however the Cushitic people who predated the Bantus in settling Kenya were not Somalis. More like the Rendilles, Yaaku, El Molos and other vanished south Cushitic groups. Sirikwa were rumored to be Cushitic group. Njuri you are absolutely right, Somalis are recent intruders into NEP, even Kisimayo in Jubbaland is not Somali but Bajuni. Somalis were an expansionary tribe like Maasais.
There is some affinity between Nilotes and Cushites no question, cultural exchange happened, DNA exchanged took place. Once Somalis adopted Islam however they went their separate way, they have more kinship with Arabs than fellow blacks now. Their loyalties lay with Arabs.
-
It's not an obsession its a fact that every kalenjin knows. We dont have irrational gema fear of Somalis. We know Somali-Borana are our people.
Let me teach your history. When you say cushites...what do you mean. You simply mean people from Cush. Where is Cush? It's just the north of present day Khartoum. Present day Nubians (not Nuba) living in Sudan and Egypt are example of Cush people
About 2000 yrs ago - people living in cush empire - and Kalenjin living just below them in present day khartoum - moved south - first to Ethiopia - then to East Africa - Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
These were proto-Kalenjin and proto-cushite people.
Proto-cushite would later split into oromo and somalia. The kalenjin into their 10 subtribes.
Bantus arrived way later from Cameroun. Maasai and other plain nilotes (kenya speak) arrived after that from South Sudan...maasai/turkana/iteso ideally like kalenjin should be nilo-cushitic/hamitic people - intermixed nilotic people cushites.
The Luos - with all their noise - arrived about 500yrs in kenya - very recently

I am glad you now know some history.
So according to you Somalis emerged from nowhere? Somalis and Oromo were same - they are cousins - they split as somalis migrate east - and Somalis when they became Islamic living near the coast - then started the nonsense/myth about them coming from Yemen and being Arabs.
You may not like Somalis and their feeling of entitlement - but they are kenyans more than Luos. They have been in kenya for many more thousands years before 1st Luo arrrived here.
Kalenjin lived with somalis and oromos before arrival of Maasai made everyone scamper for safety - Somalis moved east - oromo moved back north - and kalenjin moved to the highlands.
:D :D @Abdi Pundit.

Kenya under Uhuru was always reluctant to engage powerful lawyers to defend this case...very suspicious. Has anyway checked if this is another play to nyakua oil rich part of kenya ocean by the criminal enterprise?

Kenya should agree to the ruling and move on. Kenya's mistake was the borderline signed with Tanzania. Had Kenya first waited for the borderline with Somalia to be clear before signing the one with Tanzania, we would not feel the pinch. Now it is too late to start regotiations with Tz as the deal was sealed decades ago.
We just have to move on and take the deal offered to us.
Hata mkia ni nyama. :D

Talk about a made up history. Of course you can't help take cheap shots at Luo like an obedient uthamakistan adjacent, I don't know if its hatred picked up through fucking Mt Kenya females or what, you got extra matusi for Luos of late, almost gratuitous, who are you trying to impress? 8)
Your new Kikuyu vote bank? My fren leave that anti Luo nonsense it will consume you even Mt Kenya folks are fatigued by it. Luos and Kalenjins are kin, distant yes but kin nonetheless. Shika adabu mvulana

If we go back to history everyone is related to everyone. Question is how long far back in history matters?

Let's hope so. In their entire modern history, the only relations they have had with ALL their neighbors(Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, even Yemen) are adversarial.

Nyar, kalenjin n luos are definitely related, but way back in north of south Sudan where other luos live.I believe kalenjin lived the north of current luos who are in northern most of all nilotes. There is no recent admixture as intermarriage btw kalenjin n luos is almost non existent as luo refused to circumize.Kalenjin, oromo and somalis have many similar culture that points to contact with either early form of Christianity or Islam before moving down about 2000yrs.Luos are very recent immigrants to Kenya...only 500yrs
