Most countries including developed ones cannot account for excess abnormal deaths in covid-19 era.

In kenya we know that deaths are grossly under counted. My sis was telling me that in kiambu rural areas families are using chalk to write on the ground for directions on which family is having a funer. Since there may be multiple funeral going on at the same time near each other. I did notice that everyday I was driving up country I would be seeing a lot of funeral processions especially in densely populated areas like ikinu, Ndumberi, etc

The Covid figures in Africa are grossly exaggerated. People are dying but it's not as bad as claimed. Omollo came here one time saying Nyanzans were renting morgues in Western. Initial WHO/CDC and western agencies proclaimed that Africans would die like flies but 'nywele ngumu' is blessed of God. Do not cheer the naysayers.

Even developed nations - the number of deaths the last two years - are above the usual normal morbidity - and covid figures are way low.

That's an important question. But we are in the era of science by 24 hour media cycles. So we have to settle for mostly plausible reasons why this is the case. The fact of the matter is people are dying in the West. While I am a healthy skeptic of modern medicine, I think it's best to err on the side of caution in this one.

The aggressive lockdowns in Africa and younger populations worked marvelously. If we had the same in the west, especially the united states, we'd not be dying like flies. Regular Covid is real, but the delta variant is reeler! I never dropped a guard, but after getting vaccinated, I started going to the stores without a mask sometimes. Weeks later, I got sick for the first time in my life. My wife knew it must be something super bad because she has never seen me ill or even cough in nearly 20 years stint we've been together. The delta made me so sick I couldn't stand for more than 10 minutes...temperature through the roof and every drink tasted the same/bitter ever tea and milk. I tried to look outside, and the sunlight was yellowish, and I knew something was up except dying. My wife prescribed azithromycin and Dexamethason, and within 48 hours, I was back to normal. Please don't get Delta or Lamda variant because it will be almost a wrap if you don't have resources or a competent physician nearby!

Ivermectin and other anti parasitic drug usage is widespread in Africa could be the reason. Why are medical officials so anti ivermectin claiming it will kill when nothing of that sort has ever happened but so sure of the efficacy of novel miRNA injections?

Possible..most of our death are communicable..unnecessary deaths..due to basic hygiene..diarhoea leading..plus malaria. I bet the hospitilization is the same. Seem NHIF is turning profit...even.

That may be true. But how do you infer what they were saved from? It seems to me that it can be explained as a reduction in the number of infectious deaths of any causes. My doctor observed a reduction in flu cases over 2020/21 because anti-COVID measures also reduce flu transmission.

That may be true. But how do you infer what they were saved from? It seems to me that it can be explained as a reduction in the number of infectious deaths of any causes. My doctor observed a reduction in flu cases over 2020/21 because anti-COVID measures also reduce flu transmission.
You also gotta remember that diet plays an important role in immunization. Natural food is a great immunizer vs MCDonalds. You'll see a much lower death numbers in Japan than USA.
Also, lotsa Trumpies have dared COVID and guess who won?
Current vaccines are meant to prevent hospitalization, not COVID.

This is perplexing. What did the restrictions save Kenya from? It appears restrictions saved from two major causes of death - drinking and hospital visits. These two were the main casualty of lockdowns. On another hand it is strange to say 2020 deaths were lower yet MoH is spewing data daily and screaming how Covid is killing dozens and dozens. Which is which? KNBS figures are likely to be more trustworthy because it guides long-term policy unlike the Covid propaganda of the media.
So like Pundit I think country should open up but continue restricting drinking (bars should remain closed). Hospital visits should still remain banned.

The accidents actually increased - so there is no justification for closing bars and night time curfew.
3.15. Table 13.6(a) shows the number of reported road traffic accidents, persons injured and
fatalities for the period 2016 to 2020. The number of reported traffic accidents rose by 24.2 per
cent to 8,919 while the number of reported road traffic casualties increased by 7.8 per cent to
16,970 in 2020. The reported fatalities from road accidents rose by 10.8 per cent from 3,586 in
2019 to 3,975 in 2020. Similarly, the number of persons that were seriously injured increased
by 15.5 per cent to 8,026 while the number of persons that were slightly injured dropped by
4.6 per cent to 4,969 in the review period.

13.16. Table 13.6(b) presents the number of casualties from reported road accidents by type
and class for the period 2016 to 2020. Pedestrian casualties increased by 8.0 per cent from
2,950 in 2019 to 3,186 in 2020. Those seriously injured increased by 17.3 per cent to 1,498
and accounted for 47.0 per cent of all pedestrian casualties. Drivers involved in road accidents
increased by 20.0 per cent to 1,753 while those seriously injured increased by 26.6 per cent
to 824 in 2020. Passenger casualties reduced by 21.0 per cent to 5,670 in the review period.
Pillion passenger casualties increased by 48.2 per cent to 2,332 in 2020. The number of pedal
cyclist casualties in road accidents increased by 22.7 per cent from 172 in 2019 to 211 in 2020.
The number of motor cyclists involved in accidents increased by 58.4 per cent from 2,410
in 2019 to 3,818 in 2020. For all types of casualties presented, motor cyclist category had
the highest growth for all classes with increases in those killed, seriously injured and slightly
injured recorded at 56.7 per cent, 59.7 per cent and 57.0 per cent, respectively.

Looking at the data again - what traffic police report - low figures - and what hospital reports as hospitization due road traffic accidents - 10 times more.
I think corrupt police data is not worth the paper it's written on.
