Title: Plato : Why so many storage places?

I see so many mushrooming all over.
Do people relly store that much outside their homes?

Yes, Americans are junk crazy. People store motorbikes, household furniture. However some of them are used by small time traders to store inventory. I know in Manhattan there many storage places used by small scale traders
