Last sentence very telling. Why can't he do it now while he's still in government instead of promising them three birds in the bush?
-
Because handshake and Raila edged him out of Government and priority became BBI.

Now he is gov. I thought you spend the last 4yrs telling everyone Ruto is not in gov. The handshake/BBI crew must be ready to defend Jubile 2.0. Jubilee 1.0 - Ruto has no problem defending it. This one - is BBI/Handshake mess.

Ruto needs to buy one of the 3 kahunas - Mvurya, Kingi, Samboja - or he will have it rough in Pwani.

Ruto has succeeded in politics by always staying young and nimble; you are trying to appease dead woods. Retiring governors without BBI - have almost zero influence - and mostly are too lazy to fight. The dog with fight are those aspiring to be governors. So Mvurya, Kingi and Johos - are dead wood - killed by BBI. They are only good for the cameras - but in the ground - it will be the Alis, Mwashetanis and Aisha - who will be out there - spending their time and money - in the ground - and you need partnership with them. Not people - who will be sitting - waiting for Ruto money - to do kamikaze campaigns.

He has tied himself in knots. He made a calculation to amass a lot wealth and buy the people and the presidency and lost his moral compass. The reason why RAO is able to reinvent himself and keep his political relevancy despite the billions of Ksh that has been deployed to finish him is because his moral authority is impeachable even by his vociferous detractors. Ruto on the other hand has been branded a thief and it has stuck. If you say today in Kenya that "we shall not be led by a thief", even a five year old know you are talking about Ruto. That is not good.
