For instance, Kenyans transacted a total of Ksh.22.04 trillion on the platform between April 2020 and March this year representing a 58.2 per cent surge year on year.

How do we reconcile the transactions for instance where I receive 5,000 then pay an Mshwari or Fuliza 5,000; borrow again, then use the money to pay Tala then borrow. Mpesa records this as a transaction worth 20,000.

Linked to GDP, transactions over and over are good but you wish it was matched with other indicators of performance. 220b transactions for survival does not necessarily grow economy.

Net transaction - maybe. But we have M1,M2, M3
