I heard hustler has already 100acres around that Isiolo airport in the Meru side, interestingly along the lapsset corridor in Northern meru  there are many kalenjin registered as owning land.... Partly true partly false, the areas bordering Isiolo all the way to meru national park are very underdeveloped as for selling old blankets i think your uncle got personal possibly he had a kendi or kawira that jilted him after eating his money or possibly a brush with death from the hands of a "primitive" baite, most cops leave the area kinda traumatized . Have met several cops who have worked there and they can't give you a single good story

Those neighbors of Tigania have only an edge as they have plenty of Ak 47 guns and ammunition BUT no samburu or somali can face a Tigania without a gun that they are very afraid of the pain of the Panga. I dont know why your dad chooseto go to embu but as it was the provincial capital it had its attractions

If you please read that book i quoted above most questions would be answered but just to be brief, Tigania are partly of nilotic and cushitic origin the dialect and some cultures also resemble those, as for looks they are just typical bantu though you will find some looking likes cushites its very common . Miraa is grown largely in igembe and also Tigania, But nowadays all merus imentis chuka grow, igembe is just an offshoot of Tigania no difference. Read more;

FGM rates in Meru are way below that of kisii, it has been fought seriously by Njuri Ncheke who banned it in 1956, they work together with NGOs  like Plan

Where in plan international from? They used to do a lot of work for food programs in mbeere. Nevef seen poverty like the one i saw in mbeere and matuu. Some places need a marshal plan. Mogusii is Great Lakes Bantu.  More closely related to Luhyas and Ugandan Bantu.  I believe they got their FGM and ill temper from neighboring Kalenjin.

Yep.  It looks like they arrive among the groups that eventually form the Luhya, but go ahead first and get hemmed in by Luo and Kalenjin.  Maybe bad temper is an adaptation to dealing with hostile tribes.

Yes, prof ochieng think hemmed amonst hostile nilotes - maasai, luos and kipsigis - gusii became pretty hostile - like the northern merus sorrounded by samburus, boranas and somalis.

Growing up - Kalenjin that I remember were pretty scary sight. We had to scar our skins - all our limbs basically - with fire tatoos!! to proof  we were ready to go for circumscion. Kalenjin men were just full of self-inflicted scars and scars from enviroments - thorns, wars.

I was luckly my skin doesn't have those many scars - my cousin if you look at him naked - all you see are round scars on all feets and hand. It was like a weekly routine - you get some tree that had a cigarette like a stump, light it - and waited to burn it out on your skin - no flinching - if you're tough 3 scars per day - until there was nowhere to scar or tattoo. You waited for a week for the wounds to heal into round permanent scars. There would be rows and rows of scars....until there was nowhere to practically scar and you'd be ready to face the knife.
