Out Of Africa After 12 Years
« on: January 02, 2017, 08:16:25 AM »
Below link is an interesting read by Karen Allen reflection on Africa after reporting from the african continent for 12 years. I have been watching here coverage for almost 10 years now, started watching her coverage in 2007 when kibaki had just stolen election and the country was all up in flames. She was reporting from Kapsabet

My personal opinion of Karen is that she was a VERY OBJECTIVE journalist. She reported the news as it was. She never tried to be (Fair-and-Balance) as most media houses do nowadays. A reporter in news should never be "Fair and Balanced" as their is nothing in news of being fair and balanced. A reporter in news is suppose to be OBJECTIVE, reporting what is happening and letting your audience (viewer or listener) make their own opinion.

Karen Allen reported news as it was, bad or good...and let the viewers decide. something that is really lacking nowadays in the Journalism field.

Kudos Karen, the world will miss your reporting from Africa.
