Vooke, any moderator posting on Nipate.com I had to relieve of moderator duties. Conflict of interests and safety. Wasn't just you.

In few weeks you won't be laughing but desperately trying to join .org. When we started nipate.com...we bought into true rv self-regulation ingenuity and it worked for some years..eventually we had deluge of fans...around icc(email expouse) and election time  of 2013..and self-regulation flew out...and in came the toilet.

Self-regulation had worked as non-official policy on rcb..i took yrs before posting there though i was an observer...you sort of knew the standard expected...and if you wrote bullcrap...you'd be assured of being ignored.

True rv being a genius noticed this...and we all bought into it. True rv named it self-moderation and self-regulation..it was study of human behavior condensed. It worked...for many yrs..even with invasions of somalis from somalinet and all the crap....nipate.com stood for certain standard..we always fought against attempt to mashandize the forum...cheapen it....we did this by ignoring the idiots, the foolish and the riff raffs...or by pulverizing them back to mashada or whichever lowly forum they came from.

Now .com for last few yrs has become a complete mess....idiots with barely IQ of room temp dominate debates..hulka..natty..njuri...maumau..name them..characters even mashada would reject...and basically if you are stupid enough to go there..you''ll end up more angry, more stupid and more disgusted than before. Then end up poisoning the environment.

The site has now become blacklisted and banned by nearly everyone including the host...Mkenya the admin has grown weary and disinterested..it become a public toilet with no future...something you cannot do without out...though you never enjoy visiting it..

Veritas shares a vision of nipate that is vibrant and respectful.  I think as long as she is flexible..that vision will become a reality.

When you came here, you were hesitant about moderation, and you had a reason. Veritas told us that she can't even see the IP adress of a poster. today, she says the IP adress of Mwanabiashara was that of a spammer.

Be it as it may, I am personally pro-moderation. I even advocated for the same at .com; because creativity without order is confusion. But moderating on what is basically common sense. Spam, Porn, and Photos and posts by .com resident troll phenomenom, who has himself been banned more 30 than times in siomalinet.com - a sight that drinks and sleeps raw mashada-like clan politics.

You had suggested a free-flowing general forum and a number of slightly more regulated sub-forums. I believ that would have worked.

But let me ask you, looking at the decision to "demote" vooke from being a moderator because of "security," isn't it laughable? RVP? Seriously? Will veritas also demote Terminator now that he's been posting at .com and supposedly RCB? Will Omollo be "demoted" too?

You and i know that a forum is not about its extension, but its people, and its moderators. I believe that whatever ails RCB, .com, and .org, is the same - the leadership; not the people. Regardless of their level of obnoxiousness, it's always possible to ignore someone.

Anyway, I think this is veritas' site, and she'll do as she pleases. It really doesn't matter anyway. If the people of the house love it, then no one should dictate to .org how  a forum should be run. I've always admired www.wazua.co.ke. A highly moderated forum, but also full of creativity and fun. The only problem with it is the interface, and it's inability to admit new members unless they sign in with facebook.

But as you often say - to each his own.

First we have to agree that vision of true rv of self-regulation and self-moderation has failed. Yes we need some form of moderation and regulation. If we are folks of the same basic decorum or intellect..that shouldn't be hard. Once the fools dominate it..it becomes a mess. Nipate.com is a mess.  It is blacklisted and banned. It not any different from alshabaab websites.

Regarding Veritas..it been a hectic week for her...i say cut her the slack...she is willing to make amends. I personally do not give a damn about being moderator or not...you must be such a failure in real life to even make it an issue.

In short....right now Veritas need genuine support.....not sneering and malicious remarks from folks least interested in her vision. By default her vision is not to replicate the toilet nipate.com.

I believe everyone deserves a chance.

Wazau..been there...one of the most shallow website..it kenya version of mashada....mashada is diaspora website for shallow minded contemporaneous debate ...i actually quit wazua when a college mate told me it was waaaaaaaaaaay below my level.

If you think Wazua is great...you need to log off and register in Mashada or Nipate.com..the city council toilet complete with spam.

Veritas is trying very hard. I spent most of the day defending her from the smear campaign launched by the Gachie Mongrel. She has a genuine desire to have a clean debating forum devoid of crap.

The Gachie group want her to fail so that they can continue harassment and other cesspool games. I can't help laughing when they somehow expect Pundit back there.

I was taken aback when Jokoyo reacted with such Vehemence - perhaps x3 on the Kendi Vehemence Scale ( I have to use the famous Kendi's Vehemence barometer to measure). I think he should have tried diplomacy. After all we all have some responsibility for this to succeed.

Personally i have no reverse gear...i always move forward....i see them desperately trying to claim i am running away...running away from a company i helped formed..a company that has now succeeded. It amazing stupidity. When i quit the UN to form that company..i never looked back. In all my ventures...i do not look back. My life remain an open book....i have nothing to fear nor to hide.

Somehow that company is now one big scandal(according to them)..instead of being one big success out of Nairobi. I am suppose to be ashamed instead of being proud    that company whose name we took weeks to come up with is now a big player in global scene..and i partly own it.

I too personally do not care who is the moderator or not. So i'll let the "losers in life" to worry about that. As for veri, i don't need to cut her some slack. This is her site. She's paid for the hosting and for the hosting - no matter how little the amount is. I'm not the type to laugh at ANYONE's successes or belittle them. But I'll probably echo what you've said: she needs to take it slow.

What if she doesn't? It doesn't matter - this is HER SITE. She might as well wake up one morning and ban everyone or close down the site - and i can promise you this...I WILL NOT BE ANGRY AT HER, THOUGH I MAY LAUGH ABOUT IT. I'll probably be at .com saying how much i expected the site to close down. But one thing i will not do - I will NOT be bothered because IT IS HER SITE.

The condition of the forum speaks for itself. I can say however, he has indeed grown tired of running Nipate.com, from his own mouth and sentiments.

FYI, this site cost me hundreds to keep safe, I can see IP addresses (never denied that). Just because the interface is pre-made, doesn't mean the workings behind it come cheap. I can do that because I can afford it. I treat this site with the professional work ethic I apply in real life. That's called respect.

Your avatar and intention speaks for itself, I asked you to put clothes on, and you haven't. I suggest you go bitter at Nipate.com and it's intention to close down since "HE OWNS IT" rather than making subtle deriding statements like TRV. You seem to confuse this site for theirs.

RVP, it's not moderating as in "moderating." The only thing mods can do is delete posts. For the purposes of unwanted spam, porn etc. I can't maintain a forum by myself with eyes everywhere for every single post. I believe in democracy and equity and a member driven forum. I've specifically ensured there's no editing, no banning, no censuring, no visible IP to anyone, utmost privacy to all, even I can't see.

I know this is a very sensitive issue but I can trust all the moderators because we've been through unjust moderation, and trust you wouldn't get offended by particular posts enough to be deleting other posts based on content. Let's give this moderation thing a go RVP.

.com has had access to IPs and email addresses and has on occasion abused that by passing the information around. I have Njamlik's IP address and despite her being my biggest online enemy I haven't seen the need to do anything about it - except trace it to Utrecht in Holland.

It means nothing. In my case it simply shows the address of my internet provider and being a multinational provider cannot possibly help with location.
