That is what baffles me. He fought and won against the ICC. Yet he just won't let the matter go. Leadership requires compromise. Think of what he would gain in stature if he publicly abjured bitterness and embraced the ICC by repudiating the hostile stance of the AU. Turn out they were paying for syndicated loan of 600M USD that Kibakidinga borrowed to finance elections.

I think you're mixing issues or corruptions scandals which are a dime a dozen and therefore had to track. This was about CBK paying 54B debts which Budget Controller query. Dr Thuge of Treasury has explained they uses 54B to retire the syndicate loan arranged by i think StanChart that gov borrowed to pay for stuff including expensive gadgets for IEBC.

So why were they paying it through NYS?

Civil Society is no longer active to take it up and cause somebody to pay for the lapse. It was just as easy to seek the authority before fact as they have done after fact.
