Good evening church,
Profuse apologies for almost skipping church, had a busy yesterday and today with ministry.
Long before the Nicene Creed was derived,the following verse records one of the oldest/earliest statements of the Christian faith, and also probably a hymn.
1 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)
16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:
He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory.Without doubt the subject is Jesus Christ.
John 1:14, the Incarnation- '....and the Word was MADE flesh...' That's where it all started, Acts 1:2,Mark 16:19- the Ascension
What strikes my curiosity is the 'seen by angels' bit. Will share more on this later.
