« on: March 31, 2015, 09:46:55 AM »
This boko haram is real ..but is the figure for real or just political given ethiopia, kenya & South africa are also in top 10? African countries need to do more to keep kids in school as much as possible .... ..tragic to see Nigeria in same league with Somali ....not so good picture for Africa in coming years given these are the trailblazers

A recent report by the Africa Health, Human and Social Development Information Service indicated that in the northeast, some 52.4 percent of men and boys over the age of six had no education.

The figures were worse for girls and women, rising to 61.1 percent.

But within the average, the figures rose to more than four in five (83.3 percent) of the 1.4 million males in Yobe. In Borno, it was just under two-thirds (63.6 percent) of 2.6 million males.

10 million is a drop in an African population of 174 million.

1 uneducated kid is 1 too many. Education leads to opportunities. People will not be manipulated if they have the education.

That stats seem legit.Only  compulsory schooling like in Uganda will stop this. Why kenya gov has NOT to enforced compulsory schooling for all kids upto form 4 level of education is beyond me.

Buying big cars and developing this and that is the game in town.
Education for all is a mirage.
Most MCAs have no idea what they are supposed to do, so they get busy with impeachments instead of building schools and providing clean water.
